The British Rail Class 397 Civity is built by Spanish rolling stock manufacturer CAF for lease to TransPennine Express by Eversholt Rail Group
Announcement of new trains was made by FirstGroup when it was confirmed that they would become the next operator of the TransPennine Express franchise from 1 April 2016. In May 2016 it was announced by TransPennine Express that they had ordered twelve five-car electric multiple units from CAF to replace the fleet of ten four-car Class 350/4 Desiro units which presently operate TransPennine Express services between Liverpool, Manchester and Scotland.
Testing of the first set began at the Velim railway test circuit in July 2018.
An option for up to 22 extra units was available to TransPennine Express, but it was not exercised.
Mainline testing of the Class 397 was carried out from Manchester International Depot, operating between the depot and Carlisle via Crewe, the test runs being operated by Rail Operations Group.

Rioja wine is made from grapes grown in the autonomous communities of La Rioja and Navarre, and the Basque province of ?lava. Description: Tony Smith image Alamy HDWTPB - Murals in Northern Ireland have become symbols of Northern Ireland, depicting the region's past and present political and religious divisions.
Belfast and Derry contain arguably the most famous political murals in Europe. It is believed that almost 2,000 murals have been documented since the 1970s. In 2014, the book, The Belfast Mural Guide estimated that, in Belfast, there were approximately 300 quality murals on display, with many more in varying degrees of age and decay. Murals commemorate, communicate and display aspects of culture and history. The themes of murals often reflect what is important to a particular community. A mural therefore exists to express an idea or message and could generally be seen as reflecting values held dear to that community.
In Irish republican areas the themes of murals can range from the 1981 Irish hunger strike, with particular emphasis on strike leader Bobby Sands
murals of international solidarity with revolutionary groups are equally common, as are those which highlight a particular issue, for example the Ballymurphy Massacre or the McGurk's Bar bombing. In working class unionist communities, murals are used to promote Ulster loyalist paramilitary groups such as the Ulster Defence Association and Ulster Volunteer Force and commemorate their deceased members. However traditional themes such as William III of England and the Battle of the Boyne, the Battle of the Somme and the 36th Ulster Division are equally common

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy DD4GH1 - Flamenco, in its strictest sense, is a professionalized art-form based on the various folkloric music traditions of Southern Spain in the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Extremadura and Murcia. In a wider sense, it refers to these musical traditions and more modern musical styles which have themselves been deeply influenced by and become blurred with the development of flamenco over the past two centuries. It includes cante (singing), toque (guitar playing), baile (dance), jaleo (vocalizations), palmas (handclapping) and pitos (finger snapping).
The oldest record of flamenco dates to 1774 in the book Las Cartas Marruecas by Jos?? Cadalso. Flamenco has been influenced by and associated with the Romani people in Spain
however, its origin and style are uniquely Andalusian.
Although the Diccionario de la lengua espa?ola associates it especially with the Gypsy ethnicity, is more than perceptible the fusion of the different cultures that coincided in the Andalusia of the time. Of all the hypotheses about its origin, the most widespread thesis is that which exposes the Morisco origin, only that the cultural miscegenation that occurred then in Andalusia: Natives, Muslims, Gypsies, Castilians and Jews
propitiated its creation. In fact, it already existed in the region of Andalusia its germ long before the Gypsies arrived, also taking into account that there were gypsies in other regions of Spain and Europe, flamenco was only cultivated by those who were in Andalusia.
Flamenco has become popular all over the world and is taught in many non-Hispanic countries, especially the United States and Japan. In Japan, there are more flamenco academies than there are in Spain. On November 16, 2010, UNESCO declared flamenco one of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

Historical references to Los Cristianos date back to the 16th century, when it is described as a harbour by the Notary Hern?n Guerra.[2] Los Cristianos remained an important port for the south of Tenerife throughout the 17th, 18th and 19th Centuries but remained unsettled until the latter part of the 19th Century due to the threat of pirate raids as there was no significant population to warrant a castle or fort.
The first permanent settlement of Los Cristianos was in the 1860s when it was described by Pedro de Olive as a hamlet in Arona, with three one-storey houses, a two-storey house and a hut. It was officially recognised in governmental documents as been established in 1888 by 29 houses and a cave.

The Sun, is the 19th Tarot card. The Sun is a card that indicates the universe is conspiring in your favor. Consider this as more than a simple victory
this is a mastery of much of what is before you. Perhaps you are starting over. This is a card that indicates that your good choices are adding up to create a great life.
Dominating the illustration is the sun itself. The face on the sun is an illustration of your higher mind. This is the concept of blending a built-in knowledge of your purpose in life with your intuition on how to maximize this purpose. The serene face of the sun in this card reflects the peace you are at when you know yourself. Or so gipsy Rose says......

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy HEEFCN - Murals in Northern Ireland have become symbols of Northern Ireland, depicting the region's past and present political and religious divisions.

08/12 – Looking For Dali
Breaking up is hard to do as they say. With some cash saved, the darkness of November creeping in, no partner and parents also gone, he went to follow art. A few weeks clothes in a rucksack, Just a few thousands short of million Pesetas, ferry from Dover, couchette interrupted crossing into Spain at Port-Bou, he travelled south from Barcelona. RENFE’s orange &
white carriages reminded him of the Formica tables at his favourite cafe.
He got through Winston’s and Fortuna’s by the box of 100 while drifting into that breakfast ritual of Chocolate con Churros at the corner of the 3rd floor block he shared with engineering students. Late starts and a cafe con Leche suited him.
He didn’t find Dali in Cordoba, but the Hospital de la Caridad de los Reyes Catolicos together with small galleries in the vicinity fed his mind and soul.
With each afternoon a little more of his pain was forgotten.
