The Pyramid, opened in 2002, hosts various classes throughout the year for people interested in discovering the arts. Pyramid also hosts a monthly Comedy Store Event, local band nights as well as having a varied programme of weekly classes. One of its studios was named in 2011 after the late Pete Postlethwaite.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2MKF8NX - Gerard Winstanley House which was formerly the towns magistrates court and police station but is now the home of a multi-arts thriving creative community.
It is a Grade II listed building dating back to around 1887 and of course, the first thing that hits you is the brickwork. The official records describe it as red brick in Flemish bond with sandstone dressings and a slate roof.
The buildings stand on Crawford Street opposite the small little garden that belongs to the Parish Church of All Saints and it really does cut a very imposing figure from a seat in that garden.
But the dramatic architecture doesn't stop there - not only do we have the amazing red brickwork and intricate dressings, but we have towers and turrets too! The spiked tower at the bottom end of Crawford Street rises high above the brickwork pointing right up to the often dark skies above.
This is where the main entrance to the courts was, its large welcoming doorway still a big feature of the facade. The symmetry and absolute craftsmanship of the building never fail to impress
These days the courts and police station have long gone, updated and replaced elsewhere in the town and everyone wondered what might happen to this magnificent building.
Would it go to rack and ruin like so many other buildings in the town, or would there be new life breathed into it, would it get a second chance?
The answer was firmly YES as the building was purchased and occupied by The Old Courts who have transformed the place and have refurbished the interior (still an ongoing project) to provide Art Galleries, a Theatre, a Live Music venue, a Cafe, a Record store, Band rehearsal rooms, Conference and Events space and even a bar.
Bailiff Bar is at the very bottom of the building around the corner from Crawford Street and on to King Street West.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2K1P053 - Gamesley is a residential area within the Borough of High Peak in Derbyshire, England, west of Glossop and close to the River Etherow which forms the boundary with Tameside in Greater Manchester. Gamesley is a ward of the High Peak Borough Council. It had a population of 2,531 at the 2011 Census
The original village of Gamesley consisted of rows of cottages inhabited by workers at the local textile mills, and it remained largely undeveloped until the 1960s, when it underwent considerable change. It was chosen as the location of an overspill estate, built by Manchester City Council. This was in order to rehouse people from decaying inner city areas of Manchester. These housing areas were also built in other towns surrounding Manchester, such as nearby Hattersley on the outskirts of Hyde.
The Gamesley estate was built in 2 half's. The first houses were built by contractors Finnegans which were constructed with
flat felted roofs, pebble dash cladding ground floors and tile cladded first floors. Finnegans houses were equipped with warm air central heating which used gas as an energy source. The Finnegan side of the estate was known locally as the ?gas side'. In the late 1980s the local authority renovated the Finnegan system built houses, the works included re-enveloping the external building with traditional bricks and mortar. The works also added apex roofing complete with roofing tiles.
The second half of the Gamesley estate was built a couple of years later by George Wimpey using the Wimpey no-fines house building method. The houses were constructed with full pebble dash finish and tiled apex roofing. The houses built by George Wimpey had a solid concrete ground floor which had electrical underfloor heating installed, the first floors of these houses were built with no heating. Due to electricity being the main energy source for heating, the George Wimpey side of Gamesley became known locally as the ?electric side'.

shops, which was formerly the Stroud Co-op department store. Once inside the front door,
customers would walk up through the different departments. The main double door is now
replaced by the separate doors into the Black Book caf?? and the launderette, with a
narrow blank panel in between. The windows up both Nelson St and Parliament St have
the original lights and pull-down awnings (still working).
The square, Art Deco, rendered panel (?1931') is as it was originally. The signage (Soap &
Suds, etc) is modern but in a font in keeping with the age of the building.
Unit 6, originally the butcher's department of the Co-op and now a tattoo parlour ? has a
set-back doorway (the others in the block flush) but no awning like the others. At the back
of the shop are the original butcher's rails. The plate glass is the original Co-op shop
glass.
In Unit 4, originally the cooked meats department with uphill neighbour Hong Kong
takeaway and now R&R books, the central black and white tiled flooring is original.

it is supported by full-height Ionic columns flanking the deeply recessed centre which has Egyptian-style tapered 2-panel double doors with 2 panels above, set in a moulded architrave with cornice
dated plaque above and smaller doors to sides of recess. The outer bays are each flanked by Tuscan antae and have a semicircular arched window with small panes, moulded architrave and panelled apron above banded rustication. A moulded string-course below the apron continues round central recess. The moulding to base of columns continues round the building as a plinth. Steps up to central range are flanked by c1837 cast-iron lamp standards with rope-pattern moulding on octagonal bases and with C20 lamps. INTERIOR: the church room is virtually complete, rear rooms are being remodelled (1991). A richly moulded cornice to the coved and panelled ceiling continues round a recess to the north end which is curved at the inner corners. Organ, at gallery level, is flanked by paired Corinthian pilasters. Pulpit below is Classical style. The base has 3 semicircular arches with moulded archivolts and fluted keystones over shallow fluted recesses

this upper part has 4 moulded semicircular arches, the central 2 project, resting on vase columns. To each side the pulpit stairs curve backward, with square fluted newels and thick vertical moulding to stick balusters. The project cost ?6,000 and was funded by a local trust foundation.
Children, aged between eight and 15, were given a break from their responsibilities caring for loved ones to help work with Will on the design.
The idea was to find a new way for young people to engage with the town's history.
The group decided on a range of images including iconic structures such as the Golden Gates and the Barley Mow, famous faces like Jonathan Blackburne, the Lord of the Manor of Warrington famous for growing the north west's first pineapple at Orford Hall, and the Mad Hatter's tea party scene from Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland.
Scenes illustrating the town's industrial heritage are also featured alongside a depiction of the ill-fated RMS Tayleur which was built in Warrington.
Will and the team spent 46 hours on the street art design over six days using 25 litres of emulsion and 100 spray cans.
The project has been around a year in the making with a workshop in February to gather ideas on how the mural should look.
Planning permission to paint the wall was approved at the end of September when Historic England raised no objections.

Blake was appointed general at sea in 1649, serving in the First Anglo-Dutch War and Anglo-Spanish War. Later he was made Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports.

It was designed by John Angel in the mid-1920s. The green figure of the memorial is allegorical, representing Civilization as a seated female, holding a globe in one hand and with the book of knowledge on her lap.
John Angel sculpted the Angel of Bridgwater. Mounted on a plinth, a female figure of 'Civilisation' lofts the world, which is encircled by emblems of commerce and peace. Under her foot are the demons of war. The throne and figure are backed by relief depictions of Labour, Home, Life and Education. On her lap is a book of laws, and she is surrounded by children. Indeed, given its monumental breadth, the many details in the design, and its metaphorical and iconic form, the sculpture is subject to colorful and variant interpretations and description. The bronze was cast by W Morris Art Bronze Foundry
At the time, Angel was working four years as assistant to Sir George Frampton,[2] and Frampton's influence is apparent. Figures from the roughly contemporaneous Exeter War Memorial, specifically Peace (also known as Victory) were exhibited by Angel at The Royal Academy in 1922, being exhibited in the courtyard of Burlington House,[8] as were other studies of the Bridgwater War Memorial on several occasions.
On the third step these words are inscribed: IN HONOUR OF THE MEN OF BRIDGWATER WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918
The memorial was unveiled by General the Earl of Cavan then Chief of the Imperial General Staff on 25 September 1924, to commemorate the fallen of World War I. Further names have been added following World War II, the Korean War. Falklands Conflict and the Afghan conflict. On the face of the tower is a clock installed in 1869 replacing earlier clocks which had been on the tower since 1393. Within the tower are eight bells. The oldest bell dates from 1617 with further bells being added through the 17th and 18th centuries. The most recent bell is the Tenor which dates from 1868 and was cast by John Taylor & Co.
Between 1849 and 1851 major renovation work, by Dickson and Brakspear of Manchester, included the removal of the galleries and box pews
they were replaced by regular pews. Between 1877 and 1878 further alterations were made, and in 1888 the walled up arch between the nave and the tower was opened. In 1902 a vestry was added. In 1937 more alterations were made and the decoration of the Sanctuary simplified.
The interior of the church includes a 13 feet (4.0 m) by 8 feet (2.4 m) painting of the Descent from the Cross of Spanish or Italian origin given to the church by Anne Poulett the Member of Parliament for the Bridgwater constituency in 1775. major restoration work was carried out by Sir George Gilbert Scott in the 1860s. It is one of the largest examples of Perpendicular Gothic architecture in the West Country. The medieval abbey church served as a sometime cathedral of a bishop. After long contention between churchmen in Bath and Wells the seat of the Diocese of Bath and Wells was later consolidated at Wells Cathedral. The Benedictine community was dissolved in 1539 during the Dissolution of the Monasteries.
The church architecture is cruciform in plan and can seat up to 1,200 patrons. An active place of worship, it also hosts civic ceremonies, concerts and lectures. There is a heritage museum in the cellars.
The abbey is a Grade I listed building, particularly noted for its fan vaulting. It contains war memorials for the local population and monuments to several notable people, in the form of wall and floor plaques and commemorative stained glass. The church has two organs and a peal of ten bells. The west front includes sculptures of angels climbing to heaven on two stone ladders, representing Jacob's Ladder.
During the 1820s and 1830s buildings, including houses, shops and taverns which were very close to or actually touching the walls of the abbey were demolished and the interior remodelled by George Phillips Manners who was the Bath City Architect. Manners erected flying buttresses to the exterior of the nave and added pinnacles to the turrets.
Major restoration work was carried out by Sir George Gilbert Scott in the 1860s, funded by the rector, Charles Kemble. The work included the installation of fan vaulting in the nave, which was not merely a fanciful aesthetic addition but a completion of the original

St Mary and All Saints Church, Great Budworth, is in the centre of the village of Great Budworth, Cheshire, England. It has been designated by English Heritage as a Grade I listed building.

Dunham Massey has a long history, as reflected in its 45 listed buildings. It was a locally important area during the medieval period, and acted as the seat for the Massey barony. The Georgian hall, with the remains of a castle in its grounds, is a popular tourist attraction. There are two Sites of Special Scientific Interest in Dunham Massey: Dunham Park, located south of Dunham Town, and Brookheys Covert.
