Constituency profile
Tatton comprises the north-western part of the Cheshire East unitary authority, including the towns of Knutsford and Wilmslow, and a number of villages such as Alderley Edge, Chelford, Handforth and Mobberley, in Cheshire. It also covers a small, north-east, part of the Cheshire West and Chester unitary authority, including some of the outskirts of Northwich.
The seat largely comprises prosperous villages and small towns, many of which have high property prices, set amidst Cheshire countryside, featuring country parks, hills, recreation grounds and golf courses. The area was previously dominated by countryside
however, since the 1950s, it has developed a largely built-up, suburban character, being located on the fringes of Greater Manchester. The largest centres of population are Alderley Edge, Wilmslow and Knutsford. Its proximity to Manchester means Tatton forms part of the commuter belt to the city.
The constituency was created for the 1983 general election following the major reorganisation of local authorities under the Local Government Act 1972, which came into effect on 1 April 1974. It was formed from parts of the seats of Runcorn, Cheadle, Northwich and Knutsford. The constituency is named after Tatton Park, a stately home in this area.

William Wallace, Baron Wallace of Saltaire, described it as a nefarious piece of legislation that is shabby and illiberal. Toby James, a professor of politics and public policy, has said the inclusiveness of elections has been undermined by the act and it weakens the UK's claim to be a beacon of democracy. The Labour Party said the Conservatives are trying to rig the rules of the game to help themselves. A free voter ID card was introduced for those who did not have other forms of identification.

A recent report by the Heating and Hot Water Council (HHIC)* found that households can save around 6-8% in gas just by turning down the heating flow temperature on their condensing combi boiler. To be clear, this is not turning down your thermostat.
Nearly all combi boilers are not optimised to run as efficiently as they should, which increases household gas bills and emits more carbon. Reducing the operating temperature for heating will help your boiler run more efficiently without reducing your comfort.
You will need to have a condensing combi boiler, i.e. a boiler that produces your heating and hot water. You will have a combi boiler if you do not have a hot water cylinder. It will definitely be a condensing boiler if it was fitted in the last 16 years. A condensing boiler will also have a white plastic pipe underneath the boiler (although it can be grey or black).
Most combi boilers have two dials: one for heating (usually with a little radiator icon over it) and one for hot water (with a little tap icon). Some only have one dial but it is usually for the heating flow temperatures. Some dials do not provide the actual temperature setting. Some like Worcester are numbered 1-6, some have dashed lines and others a curved line of increasing thickness. Some user manuals do provide additional information.

He was the eldest son of John Ryle, private banker, of Park House, Macclesfield, M.P. for Macclesfield 1833“7, and Susanna, daughter of Charles Hurt of Wirksworth, Derbyshire. He was born at Macclesfield on 10 May 1816.
He was educated at Eton and the University of Oxford, where his career was unusually distinguished. He was Fell exhibitioner at Christ Church, from which foundation he matriculated on 15 May 1834. He was Craven scholar in 1836, graduated B.A. in 1838, having been placed in the first-class in literæ humaniores in the preceding year, and proceeded M.A. in 1871. He was created D.D. by diploma on 4 May 1880.
Ryle left the university with the intention of standing for parliament on the first opportunity, but was unable to do so because of his father's bankruptcy. He took holy orders (1841“42) and became curate at Exbury, Hampshire. In 1843, he was preferred to the rectory of St Thomas, Winchester, which he exchanged in the following year for that of Helmingham, Suffolk. The latter living he retained until 1861, when he resigned it for the vicarage of Stradbroke in the same county. The restoration of Stradbroke church was due to his initiative. In 1869, he was made rural dean of Hoxne, and in 1872 honorary canon of Norwich. He was select preacher at Cambridge in 1873 and the following year, and at Oxford from 1874 to 1876, and in 1879 and the following year. In 1880, he was designated dean of Salisbury, and at once, 19 April, advanced to the newly created see of Liverpool, which he ably administered until his death at Lowestoft on 10 June 1900. He is buried at All Saints Church, Childwall, Liverpool

they were said to make a very noble, rustic, sight, and strike an odd terror upon the spectators, and admiration at the design of ˜em . More recently, Aubrey Burl called them seventy-seven stones, stumps and lumps of leprous limestone .
The number of stones has changed over the years. Legends refer to stones having been taken away (to make bridges and the like), and it is likely that this created most of the gaps now visible. The stones are famously uncountable, but originally may have numbered about 105 standing shoulder to shoulder. At the time the Stones were first protected as an ancient monument (1883) the owner was reported to have replaced all the fallen stones in their original foundation. In fact the restoration was far from exact: most of the stones that are known to have been standing in their present positions since the 17th century show that it was originally built as an accurate circle.
THE FORM OF THE STONES
Two stones immediately outside the ring (one fallen) mark the portalled entrance to the circle opposite the tallest stone. The Stones stand in a very low bank with a wide gap on the same side as the entrance, possibly resulting from the interior being levelled.
This form of design with close-set stones, a portalled entrance and levelled interior is very characteristic of stone circles in the Lake District “ such as Long Meg and her Daughters near Penrith, and, even more similar, Castlerigg near Keswick, and Swinside north of Ulverston. History
The company was established by Lord Harris of Peckham in 1988 when he opened its first shop in Canning Town. It was first listed on the London Stock Exchange in June 1993. In 1999, the company expanded through the acquisition of selected shops from Carpetland and Allied Carpets. It acquired its first operations in Continental Europe in 2002, and in 2005 acquired May's World of Carpets. In 2007, it added the Storey Carpets business, a firm based in Sunderland, which had 54 stores at the time.
Cascade Investment, LLC, the investment vehicle of Bill Gates, acquired a 3% in the company in May 2008. Carpetright expanded again with the purchase of Sleepright UK in 2008. However, in June 2011 it announced significant shop closure plans and that year posted its first loss since 1993.
It was reported on 21 March 2018 that Carpetright was struggling after issuing several profit warnings, and that it was looking at possible shop closures. On 12 April 2018, it was announced that Carpetright would close 92 stores, with a total loss of 300 jobs out of the total workforce of 2,700, as part of restructuring measures
In May 2018, Carpetright secured a £15 million loan to provide short-term working capital. In November 2019, Carpetright announced that its largest shareholder, Meditor, had agreed to purchase the company. A bid of £15.2 million was accepted by the company, amid fears it could not pay off its debt. Carpetright have estimated that the company would need around £80 million to get out of its debt problems. The company's gross debt was evaluated at £56 million

The building is constructed around a massive inner oak frame which incorporates a thirty foot cross beam and vertical house tree over eighteen feet six inches high.
Throughout the premises the timber frames and roof trusses are exposed with many of the panels retaining their original 'wattle and daub' infill.
One of the Stairwell timbers has recently been dated as early 12th Century making it the oldest, to date, located in Chester.
The Building was originally thought to have been the Tithe Store of the Earl of Shrewsbury who at one time owned the entire block in which this property stands.
He held the title of 'Sergeant of Bridgegate' with the right to take a toll from carts using the Old Dee Bridge, the toll being three coins of the period, which bore the Kings Head, hence the buildings present name.
A recent survey suggests that Chester's famous 'Rows' might have extended to this part of the City, but the earliest documented evidence is an engraving by Bateman of 1816 showing the property with twin gables.
Over the door is a sign which reads 'Dealers in Tea and Coffee'. The Georgian facade was added at the beginning of the 19th Century after which it was sold by the Shrewsbury Estate under the 'Act of 1862'.
Since then the building has been put to various uses from a Private Dwelling to a Wine Merchants, Refreshment Rooms, Bespoke Tailors and now, rather appropriately as 'The Three Kings Tea Rooms'.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy EBFWFC - The AEC Routemaster is a double-decker bus designed by London Transport and built by the Associated Equipment Company (AEC) and Park Royal Vehicles. The first prototype was completed in September 1954 and the last one was delivered in 1968. The layout of the vehicle was traditional for the time, with a half-cab, front-mounted engine and open rear platform, although the coach version was fitted with rear platform doors.
Forward entrance vehicles with platform doors were also produced as was a unique front-entrance prototype with the engine mounted transversely at the rear. The first Routemasters entered service with London Transport in February 1956 and the last were withdrawn from regular service in December 2005, although one heritage route is still operated by Routemasters in central London.
Most Routemasters were built for London Transport, although small numbers were built for British European Airways and the Northern General Transport Company. A total of 2,876 Routemasters were built with 1,280 still in existence.
A pioneering design, the Routemaster outlasted several of its replacement types in London, survived the privatisation of the former London Transport bus operators and was used by other operators around the UK. In modern UK public transport bus operation, the old-fashioned features of the standard Routemaster were both praised and criticised. The open platform, while exposed to the elements, allowed boarding and alighting in places other than official stops
and the presence of a conductor allowed minimal boarding time and optimal security, but with greater labour costs.
Despite the retirement of the original version, the Routemaster has retained iconic status, and is considered a British cultural icon. In the late 2000s work began on a New Routemaster bus inspired by the Routemaster's traditional design, which entered service in February 2012

These are four man-made areas formed by large embankments for the dispersement of dredging waste, although these days are a haven for bird life. A little bit of countryside on the edge of built up Warrington.
In the ferry office is a small baby Belling, and a small bottle gas heater as source of warmth. It can get very cold in the winter, as at the moment. It is cool in summer however.
Inside the ferry man's wooden box are scrawling's in ink from numerous MSCC employees over the years including the story from 1974 of the ferry man who died on the job. A very interesting wooden lid.
The ferry connects an ancient right of way that was disrupted when the ship canal opened. The MSCC had to provide a means of crossing, a small rowing boat. It is part time and currently 12p per person per trip to use it. A full day pass for unlimited trips can be purchased for 25p.
A tired and weather worn wooden sign near the ferry pier mentions the agreement in 1982 between Cheshire County Council and Warrington Borough Council. Hours are stated as 7:00am to 9:00am, 12:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 19:00 (although now 18:00).

The area now occupied by the Arboretum was originally part of Rushall until 1876.
