Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 3ECEEJ6 - A petrol station forecourt in Italy displays very high fuel prices per litre, with the price board showing diesel, super and diesel plus beside blue fuel pumps and hoses. The Italian wording aperto and più servito marks the scene as a working service station where motorists face expensive pump prices for everyday driving, commuting, deliveries, holidays and road travel. The image is useful for editorial stories on the cost of living, energy inflation, road transport, motoring costs, petrol station pricing, diesel dependency, tourism by car and the impact of global oil market shocks on local consumers. The visible prices, including diesel at 2.309, super at 1.969 and diesel plus at 2.429, appear significantly above normal recent Italian average pump-price levels, making the photograph especially relevant for articles about price spikes, regional variations and expensive forecourt locations. It can also illustrate wider debate about crude oil volatility linked to Middle East conflict, Iran and Israel tensions, US foreign policy under Donald Trump, Strait of Hormuz risk, oil company profits, fuel duty and the exposure of European motorists to global energy disruption. Care is needed not to overstate a single cause, because pump prices are shaped by crude prices, taxes, refining margins, exchange rates, distribution costs and forecourt pricing policies, but geopolitical risk can push oil markets higher and feed through into consumer fuel costs. As a stock image, the photograph combines clear Italian signage, recognisable fuel pumps and prominent price numerals, making it commercially useful for news, travel, motoring, economics, consumer rights, business, energy security, climate policy and transport features. The bright daylight, open forecourt and unattended pump island give the scene a matter-of-fact documentary quality, capturing the everyday moment when international events and commodity markets are felt directly at the roadside.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 3E9APB4 - Beer pump clip artwork for Discover Ossett, a 4.1% ABV Nelson Sauvin and Amarillo pale ale associated with Ossett Brewery and Abbeydale Brewery. The illustrated design uses the look of a vintage travel poster to promote Ossett as a West Yorkshire market town, showing market stalls, flowers, a signpost, civic buildings and a clock tower under a warm orange sky. The image is useful for editorial and commercial stock uses connected with British real ale, cask beer, craft brewing, brewery collaborations, beer branding, pub pump clips, graphic design, Yorkshire tourism, local identity and the modern revival of illustrated beer label art. Abbeydale Brewery's beer archive describes Discover Ossett as a 4.1% collaboration pale ale made with Nelson Sauvin, Amarillo and Columbus hops, and says it brings together two popular beers, Deception and White Rat. Untappd also lists Discover Ossett V2 by Ossett Brewery as a 4.1% English pale ale with Nelson Sauvin and Amarillo wording, supporting the label details visible in the image. The subject has strong value for stories about independent breweries, northern beer culture, guest ales, beer festivals, CAMRA real ale interest, handpull clips, pub trade marketing and limited edition seasonal or collaboration beers. Nelson Sauvin is strongly associated with New Zealand hop character, often linked with white grape and gooseberry notes, while Amarillo is widely used for citrus and floral hop flavours, making the beer relevant to modern pale ale taste trends. The Ossett town artwork adds a local place-marketing angle, connecting beer branding with civic pride, market-town heritage and the Wakefield district. The pump clip is also useful for articles on how breweries use nostalgic tourism imagery, bright typography and local landmarks to make cask ales stand out on busy pub bars. It is a clear stock image for beer writers, pub bloggers, brewery features, hospitality coverage, tasting notes, real ale guides, drinks retail, bar design

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2T0BDM8 - Taken on 01 Oct 2023, this photograph shows Wet domestic system gas central heating radiator valve, Cheshire, England, UK. The location is Britain , UK. The picture is not just a record shot: it contains domestic heating equipment, tablet screen information and ordinary home interior detail. The domestic heating and EPC context links the image to fuel poverty, decarbonisation, property standards, retrofitting, insulation, boiler efficiency and the cost of keeping homes warm or cool. It can be used in editorial features, business reports, local-history writing, travel guides, public-policy explainers, educational material and SEO-led stock-photo searches needing a specific real-world image. For image buyers, the value is in the combination of recognisable subject, readable wording, location evidence and a plain documentary style that can be dropped into news, magazine, web, council, housing, transport, heritage or commercial commentary without looking over-produced. The composition gives designers scope for captions, page furniture, social media crops, report covers and article thumbnails, while the detailed captioning makes it more discoverable for searches using both specific place names and broader themes. It has value for both local and national stories, especially where writers need to connect a named place or object with wider economic, social, environmental or cultural change. Further SEO-friendly usage could include local services, town-centre change, heritage branding, British social history, public infrastructure, consu.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2RX18A8 - An editorial photograph of a traditional real ale bar showing a freshly poured pint of cask beer standing on the counter beside a chalkboard listing cask ales currently on offer, with several polished hand pumps visible behind the bar. The scene captures the atmosphere of an authentic British pub interior, with warm low lighting, spirit bottles on back shelves, branded pump clips, bar mats and working cellar-dispense equipment all contributing to a strong sense of place. The handwritten beer board advertises changing guest ales including Salopian Shropshire Gold, Brentwood Legacy, D G Mortons Proper Gander, Little Critters Wartley Tropical and Merlin Mythic IPA, with ABV and prices noted, making the image especially useful for themes linked to beer choice, rotating cask lines, independent breweries and pub merchandising. This is a highly usable image for editorial or commercial features about real ale culture, CAMRA, pub interiors, hospitality venues, licensed trade, beer tourism, draught beer service, traditional hand-pulled ale and the social life of pubs in Britain. The composition combines several recognisable elements of the UK pub trade: brass beer engines, a dark wood counter, point-of-sale pump badges, an ale offer board and a newly served pint with a light foamy head ready for the customer. Search relevance is strengthened by terms such as cask ale bar, beer pumps, pub chalkboard, handpulled bitter, guest ales, ale selection, bar service, cellar conditioned beer, pint of ale, pub counter, traditional inn, hospitality industry, drinks retail, British pub culture and beverage marketing. The image also works as a documentary record of how pubs present changing local and regional beers, encouraging drinkers to try before they buy and reinforcing the heritage and ritual of the hand-pulled pint in England.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 3EFEG21 - Close-up documentary stock photograph of a hand-pump badge for Piccadilly Star, a 6.8% ABV strong cask old ale collaboration between Manchester's Cloudwater Brew Co and family brewer J.W. Lees. The round blue pump clip, mounted on a polished brass beer engine, shows the J.W. Lees cloud logo, the large Piccadilly Star name, Cloudwater and J.W. Lees branding, and the wording a delicious strong ale . A small blackboard price sign in front advertises the beer at £4.00 a pint, making the image useful for illustrating real ale value, pub pricing, beer inflation, cost of living pressures, and changing customer expectations in British pubs. The scene appears to be inside a bar or taproom, with the beer pump on a wooden plinth, bar equipment around it, and a member of staff partly visible behind the counter. The 6.8% strength, old ale style and cask presentation give the photograph extra relevance for stories about traditional draught beer, craft brewery collaborations, high-strength winter ales, CAMRA real ale culture, pub cellarmanship, regional brewing heritage and the continued market for hand-pulled beer in an era of keg craft beer and supermarket cans. J.W. Lees has brewed in Middleton, Greater Manchester since 1828, while Cloudwater is closely associated with Manchester's modern craft beer scene, so the image brings together established family brewing and contemporary independent craft brewing. The visible £4 price also adds strong editorial value because a pint of 6.8% cask ale at that price would be seen by many drinkers as unusually good value. With readable text, clear branding and a strong price cue, the image can work for editorial features on pub affordability, beer strength, northern brewing, premium cask ale and beer tourism. The photograph has strong commercial search potential for beer menus, pub economics, brewery collaborations, Manchester drinking culture, strong ale, pump clip collecting, beer festivals and British real ale photography.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2RG1W2C - Heptonstall is a small village and civil parish within the Calderdale borough of West Yorkshire, England, historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire. The population of Heptonstall, including the hamlets of Colden and Slack Top, is 1,448, increasing to 1,470 at the 2011 Census. The town of Hebden Bridge lies directly to the south-east. Although Heptonstall is part of Hebden Bridge as a post town, it is not within the Hebden Royd town boundaries.
The village is on the route of the Calderdale Way, a 50-mile (80 km) circular walk around the hills and valleys of Calderdale
The place-name 'Heptonstall' is first recorded as Heptonstall in the 1274 Wakefield Court Rolls, and in 1316 in the Feudal Aids. The name means the stall or stable in Hebden. The name 'Hebden' means rose-hip dene or valley
Heptonstall was the site of a battle during the early part of the English Civil War in 1643.
Historically a centre for hand-loom weaving, Heptonstall's cottages and terraced houses are characterised by large first-floor windows to maximise the light for weaving
In the mid-1980s the paving on a road through Heptonstall was removed, revealing the original stone setts. Although there was a plan to remove the setts, local protests convinced the council to restore them. At the same time the existing concrete street lights were replaced with late 19th-century cast-iron gas lamps. Both developments acted as a traffic calming measure.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2PG92W3 - Interior detail showing the ceiling inside The Star Inn on Church Street in Godalming, Surrey, covered with dozens of historic real ale pump clips and beer badges collected from breweries across Britain and beyond. The photograph records a colourful, densely packed display of cask ale branding, brewery artwork, local beer names, pump clip typography and pub memorabilia above the bar area of a traditional English public house. The warm indoor lighting, timber beams and crowded ceiling create strong pub character.
The Star is a long-established Godalming pub with a strong reputation for real ale, cider and perry. The pub's own history notes a tavern on the site from 1832, with the present building retaining older character, while CAMRA describes The Star as a beerhouse from soon after 1830, with parts of the building older still. CAMRA also records the pub as offering up to 14 cask ales at busy times, alongside ciders and perries, and notes that hundreds of pub clips hang between the dark oak beams. This makes the image useful for illustrating beer collecting, brewery heritage, CAMRA culture, cask ale traditions, independent pubs and local drinking places.
Pump clips are an important part of British real ale culture because they identify the beer, brewery, strength, style and the humour or visual identity behind each brew. A ceiling full of them becomes a documentary archive of changing breweries, seasonal ales, regional brewing, pub festivals and the social networks around beer enthusiasts. The image also reflects wider themes including hospitality, leisure, pub tourism, community, alcohol retail, small breweries, traditional interiors and the preservation of characterful public houses in market towns. The visible ceiling display turns an everyday pub interior into a textured record of Britain's brewing scene, with bright labels and badges adding colour and commercial visual interest for editorial uses linked to beer, pubs, tourism and social life.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2N330D4 - CAMRA-acclaimed Appleton Thorn Village Hall bar in Cheshire is shown with a real ale tasting paddle, handpull beer pumps, illuminated bar counter and a chalkboard listing cask ales from breweries including Castle Rock, Salamander, Portobello, Acorn, Abbeydale and Tiny Rebel. The image captures a traditional volunteer-supported community bar at the heart of village life, where members and guests can enjoy real ale, cider, craft beer and social conversation in a local village hall rather than a commercial pub chain. Appleton Thorn Village Hall describes its bar as offering a warm welcome to members, while CAMRA notes that the hall has been CAMRA National Club of the Year more than once, with real ales mainly from independent breweries, many from Cheshire and North Wales, and third-pint paddles available. The photograph is commercially useful for stories about CAMRA, real ale, cask beer, volunteer-run bars, community pubs, village halls, social clubs, beer tasting, local breweries, hospitality, rural community life and the survival of traditional beer culture. The visible chalkboard prices, polished brass handpulls, beer mats, pump clips, tasting glasses and wooden paddle give the scene strong documentary detail and make it useful for editorial coverage of beer choice, cellar quality, community volunteering, club membership, social drinking and the role of village halls as informal public spaces. It can also illustrate wider debate about pub closures, rising hospitality costs, changing drinking habits, beer duty, local fundraising, independent brewing and the value of community-owned or community-run social venues. The warm indoor lighting, stocked back bar and line-up of different beer styles create an inviting image of real ale culture, showing not just a drink but a social tradition built around local knowledge, volunteers, conversation and shared community effort.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2K3082P - Crossley Brothers was set up in 1867 by brothers Francis (1839“97) and William J.(1844“1911). Francis, with help from his uncle, bought the engineering business of John M Dunlop at Great Marlborough Street in Manchester city centre, including manufacturing pumps, presses, and small steam engines.
In 1869 they had the foresight to acquire the UK and world (except German) rights to the patents of Otto and Langden of Cologne for the new gas fueled atmospheric internal combustion engine and in 1876 these rights were extended to the famous Otto four-stroke cycle engine. The changeover to four stroke engines was remarkably rapid with the last atmospheric engines being made in 1877.
The business flourished. In 1881, Crossley Brothers became a private limited company (i.e. Crossley Brothers Ltd.), and then in 1882 it moved to larger premises in Pottery Lane, Openshaw, in eastern Manchester.
Crossley Brothers built diesel engines for stationary, marine and locomotive use. There was a wide range of engines from six to 3200 horsepower (Crossley) and up to 9000 horsepower (Crossley-Pielstick).
Their marine engines had a reputation for durability and reliability.

The Appleton Thorn Village Hall near Warrington has been named the best in the country in CAMRA's Club of the Year 2019 awards, one of the most respected and well-known club awards in the UK.
This is the second time and almost 10 years to the date that the former school has won the accolade for its ever-changing range of seven beers from regional and micro-breweries. The attractive sandstone building is the hub of the community, housing a comfortable bar area, small pool room, garden area and bowling green. Home cooked food is served at Sunday lunchtime and the function room hosts quizzes, live music and an annual beer festival in October. The recent addition of a gin bar has proved popular with the club's members.
Keith Spencer, Club of the Year organiser said: This club is the very hub of the community, from hosting pre-school events to yoga, dance, Guides and rehearsals for the Vale Royal String Orchestra! It is a very deserving winning of this year's Club of the Year competition and a shining example of the intrinsic role that clubs can play in their local areas.
Chris Massey, Steward of the Appleton Thorn Village Hall said: It is a huge honour to not only win the Club of the Year title once “ but twice! We are a true community club and take pride in hosting a range of activities and events for our locals and serving great beers as well.
The CAMRA Club of the Year competition is run in conjunction with Club Mirror magazine, with the simple aim of finding the clubs with the greatest commitment to quality real ale “ those which offer a fantastic atmosphere, welcoming surroundings and most importantly, top quality real ale served in great condition. Clubs are nominated by CAMRA branches across the country and judged by a panel of volunteer CAMRA members throughout the year

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2JB87DB - A close-up editorial photograph of a traditional British cask ale handpump clip advertising Platinum Jubilee, a 4.5% ABV beer from Facer's Brewery, displayed on a polished brass beer engine inside a pub bar. The design features a cartoon-style portrait of Queen Elizabeth II against a bold Union Jack background, linking the beer branding directly to the national celebrations for the Platinum Jubilee marking seventy years of the late Queen's reign. This image captures several highly marketable themes at once: real ale culture, British brewing, royal memorabilia, monarchy, patriotic branding, pub interiors, hand-pulled cask beer, and commemorative products created for major state occasions. The composition also conveys the atmosphere of a working bar, with bottles, shelving and soft interior lighting fading into the background, helping place the viewer firmly inside an authentic UK licensed premises rather than a studio setting. Useful editorial, commercial and cultural search terms connected with this scene include British pub, pump clip, beer badge, ale branding, cask-conditioned beer, draught ale, hospitality trade, licensed bar, traditional pub culture, celebratory beer, souvenir design, royal celebration, United Kingdom identity, national occasion, beverage marketing, local brewery promotion, and consumer nostalgia. The image would suit stories or features about the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, themed products, the drinks industry, independent breweries, pub merchandising, British tourism, and the enduring link between monarchy, patriotism and the pub trade in Britain. It also works as a documentary illustration of how breweries and pubs responded to major public events with limited-edition beers, special branding and eye-catching point-of-sale artwork designed to attract drinkers at the bar. The strong red, white and blue palette against the warm brass handpump reinforces classic pub aesthetics and instantly signals Britishness.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy PCTA4G - Robinsons Brewery is a family-run, regional brewery, founded in 1849 at the Unicorn Inn in Stockport, England. The company owns more than 300 public houses, mostly in North West England.
William Robinson purchased the Unicorn Inn from Samuel Hole on 29 September 1838. His eldest son George brewed the first Robinsons Ale there in 1849.
In 1859, Frederic Robinson took over from George and bought a warehouse to the rear of the inn to expand brewing capacity. As a result, Robinsons ale became available at pubs around the Stockport area. To control the quality of ale sold, Frederic began to purchase public houses. From 1878 until his death in 1890, Frederic established twelve pubs which exclusively served his ale. This was the beginning of what was to become an estate of over 300 pubs across the North West of England and North Wales.
The Unicorn Brewery still rests on the foundations of the public house on Lower Hillgate in Stockport.
The brewery continues to be run by the fifth and sixth generations of the Robinson family. The company took over Hartley's Brewery in Ulverston in 1982, closing it and transferring the brewing of Hartley's beers to Stockport in 1991. Robinsons have acquired a number of other breweries over the years, including John Heginbotham, Stalybridge (1915)
T. Schofield & Son, Ashton under Lyne (1926)
Kays Atlas Brewery, Ardwick (1929) and Bell & Co, Stockport (1949).
The brewery owns many historic pubs, including the New Hall Inn in Bowness on Windermere.

This beer is a collaboration with the anti-fascist organisation Hope Not Hate. This creates a classic pale ale with a lot of body and citrus flavours
Three Sods Brewery has been brewing in the heart of East London since 2011. The three original sods “ Dave, Adam and Jordan came together through a mutual love of beer.
The name comes from prohibition-era Ireland when bootleggers of illegal PoitÃn would leave a sod of peat, painted white, outside their door so people knew where to find their booze.
The Sods family has grown considerably in recent years and has refused to sacrifice on quality. Our Head Brewer, Rich, and our Sales Director, Wilson, share the same passion we had when we set up Three Sods 9 years ago. Our Beers are in pubs all over the UK and we've recently launched our online shop and new Taproom in London Fields. Come and join us for a pint!

THIS IS THE BEER YOU'RE LOOKING FOR!
180 year old family-run-brewers, Robinsons, have unveiled a new seasonal beer designed to get drinkers to come out in force: Hoppy Wan Kenobi
a golden ale inspired by the world-famous movie: Star Wars.
Available for just two months throughout June and July, this noble brew is crisp, tart and packing a punch. The pump clip has been carefully designed to capture the legendary Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, proudly presenting his iconic blue plasma blade lightsaber. ˜Search your feelings' and you'll find the hop is strong with this one. Loaded with cascade and sovereign hops, and interlaced with light citrus aromas, this 4% ABV limited-edition golden ale is dangerously drinkable.
Hoppy Wan Kenobi is part of Robinsons' series of seasonal movie-themed ales that have been specially brewed for 2018.
Gill Yates, Brands Manager for Robinsons Brewery, explains: For our latest seasonal beer, Hoppy Wan Kenobi, we decided to continue to play on our popular TV and film series theme, as from our customer's response we're aware of how well it works. In 2017, we sold 770,688 pints of our seasonal beers altogether. This was a great result and we're pleased to be able to provide drinkers with fun, relatable ales which look fantastic alongside our other beers on the bar. We hope that everybody gets a chance to taste this golden delight.
Hoppy Wan Kenobi is available throughout June and July regionally via select Robinsons' pubs and free trade across the North West, Cumbria and North Wales, and nationally via listings with Heineken, Enterprise Inns Carlsberg, Punch, Admiral Taverns, Stonegate,

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy EY5KEF - Timothy Taylor's famous award-winning Best Bitter has been renamed Boltmaker.
The tipple has been given the rebranding following a competition, which attracted over 450 entries.
The winning entry was from Phil Booth, landlord of the Boltmakers Arms in East Parade, Keighley. He has received £1,000 “ which he is donating to Manorlands “ and 36 gallons of the newly-named beer.
This is just fantastic “ when I entered I never expected to win, said Phil. What could be better for business than having a beer called Boltmaker on my bar! It will help to spread the name far and wide.
Timothy Taylor sales director Grant Simpson said: Exactly 60 years ago we ran a similar competition to name a beer “ it became Landlord and has grown into an iconic brand.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy DDXKRW - The Albert Dock is a complex of dock buildings and warehouses in Liverpool, England. Designed by Jesse Hartley and Philip Hardwick, it was opened in 1846, and was the first structure in Britain to be built from cast iron, brick and stone, with no structural wood. As a result, it was the first non-combustible warehouse system in the world.
At the time of its construction the Albert Dock was considered a revolutionary docking system because ships were loaded and unloaded directly from/to the warehouses. Two years after it opened it was modified to feature the world's first hydraulic cranes. Due to its open yet secure design, the Albert Dock became a popular store for valuable cargoes such as brandy, cotton, tea, silk, tobacco, ivory and sugar. However, despite the Albert Dock's advanced design, the rapid development of shipping technology meant that within 50 years, larger, more open docks were required, although it remained a valuable store for cargo.
During the Second World War, the Albert Dock was requisitioned by the Admiralty serving as a base for boats of the British Atlantic Fleet. The complex was damaged during air raids on Liverpool, notably during the May Blitz of 1941. In the aftermath of the war, the financial problems of the owners and the general decline of docking in the city meant that the future of the Albert Dock was uncertain. Numerous plans were developed for the re-use of the buildings but none came to fruition and in 1972 the dock was finally closed. Having lain derelict for nearly ten years, the redevelopment of the dock began in 1981, when the Merseyside Development Corporation was set up, with the Albert Dock being officially re-opened in 1984.
Today the Albert Dock is a major tourist attraction in the city and the most visited multi-use attraction in the United Kingdom, outside of London. It is a vital component of Liverpool's UNESCO designated World Heritage Maritime Mercantile City and the docking complex and warehouses also com

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy H366N4 - This documentary stock photograph shows Pulling a handpull pint in a Yorkshire pub, with empty glasses, England, UK. The subject is rooted in Shipley, Yorkshire and is useful for editorial stories about Yorkshire pub culture, real ale, hand-pulled beer, traditional games and the social life of local pubs. The visible detail and caption make it more valuable than a generic bar or drink image, because it shows a real venue, real pub behaviour or a specific building connected with local social life. British pubs remain important as places to meet, eat, drink, watch sport, play traditional games and maintain informal community networks, while at the same time facing pressure from energy costs, staffing, changing drinking habits, business rates, rent, supermarket alcohol and the shift towards food-led trade. This image can support articles about real ale, hand pumps, cellar-to-bar service, drinkers, pub games such as dominoes, historic pub interiors, public house survival, tourism, hospitality employment, licensing, town-centre economies and the role of pubs in working-class and city life. It can also work for features on CAMRA, beer heritage, cask ale quality, independent pubs, after-work drinkers, railway-station pubs, local economies and nostalgia for sociable, unpretentious public houses. Search-friendly composite terms include traditional British pub culture, real ale handpull pint, Yorkshire pub games, London historic pub, pub hospitality industry, community local, cask beer service, licensed premises and UK evening economy. The documentary approach gives editors a credible image for news, magazine, web, tourism, food and drink, business, leisure, heritage and social commentary use. Where people or hands are visible, the photograph can also suggest the tactile, social side of pubs, including ordering, serving, chatting, playing and lingering rather than simply consuming a product.

Description: Tony Smith image Flickr 4629982915 - 'Wobbly Bob should not be confused with Wobbly-Headed Bob. He is a character from the comic book series 'Johnny the Homicidal Maniac' written by Jhonen Vasquez. The Wobbly Bob we are looking at here is the honourable brew from Phoenix.
The Phoenix Brewery is in Green Lane, Heywood, Lancashire. (OL10 2EP) just outside Manchester, UK. It is a regular at my local Grappenhall beer festival and is described as a 'English Strong Ale'. It is the reason I always buy a ticket for the first night (Friday at a premium of a pound - about $1.40 or EUR 1.15) in order to ensure I try at least a few halves of it. Often by Saturday it is already finito!
As can be seen it warrants its own pump at the festival, rather than just gravity fed like the casks at the back. Here are a few tasting notes from mixed sources:
Copper coloured ... creamy white head ... rich sweet fruit nose ... soft toffee fruits ... lots of big resiny fruits ... little bitter in background.
A nut-brown beer with a light tan head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and nuts. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and nice grassy and fruity hop notes, leading to a dry grassy and grapefruity finish where notes of toffee lingers.
This beer hits the right spot each time I drink it. Big, bold &
brazen. Drinking well below it\u2019s abv. Pours gold with a soft white head. Complex flavours of hops, citrus &
some malt.Very fruity on the swallow with a suggestion of coriander and herbs in the aftertaste. A really good ale which could easily, mistakenly, be drunk as a session beer.
Clear amber colour, white head. Aroma of caramel/toffee, bit of chocolate. Flavour is soft toffee, nuts, light fruity, citrus, some roasted malts. Light bitter finish. A nice start of the day.
Well, I would say a ringing endorsement there :-)

Thomas Baldwin and later John Palmer were involved in its construction from 1789 onwards. Work continued until its final opening in 1799. Some Corinthian style half columns were added with a nice upper floor later. These open onto Stall street and you can now take tea on the first floor and watch people come and go in the square.
The pump room is now a grand restaurant with nice chandeliers and a piano. It looks to be a great spot for a luxurious quintessential English treat, tea, cakes or champers (just don\u2019t forget your wallet!).

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy CF21XR - City of Bath, Pump Room and Abbey at Dusk
The Roman Baths complex is a site of historical interest in the English city of Bath. The house is a well-preserved Roman site for public bathing.
The Roman Baths themselves are below the modern street level. There are four main features: the Sacred Spring, the Roman Temple, the Roman Bath House and the Museum holding finds from Roman Bath. The buildings above street level date from the 19th century.
The Baths are a major tourist attraction and, together with the Grand Pump Room, receive more than one million visitors a year, with 1,037,518 people during 2009. It was featured on the 2005 TV program Seven Natural Wonders as one of the wonders of the West Country. Visitors can see the Baths and Museum but cannot enter the water. An audio guide is available in several languages.
In 2009 a grant of £90,000 was made to Bath and North East Somerset Council to contribute towards the cost of re-developing displays and improving access to the Roman Baths, by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport/Wolfson Fund, which was established to promote improvements in Museums and Galleries in England.

Albert Dock is a complex of dock buildings and warehouses in Liverpool, England.
Having lain derelict for nearly ten years, the redevelopment of the dock began in 1981, when the Merseyside Development Corporation was set up, with the Albert Dock being officially re-opened in 1988.
Today the Albert Dock is a major tourist attraction in the city and the most visited multi-use attraction in the United Kingdom, outside of London. It is a vital component of Liverpool's UNESCO area.

Description: Tony Smith image Flickr 4309650135 - 'A shot of the Pump House at the Albert Dock, Mersey Quayside, City of Liverpool. It has been a pub for may decades now, an old brick building. Here at dusk during heavy rain. Nice reflections on the cobbles and the wheel in the distance, near the new Liverpool One shopping centre.
The original building dates from 1878 when dockside cranes were converted to hydraulic use. However by 1920 due to the Albert dock being too small for the size of many cargo ships in use, it was mainly utilised for storage.
Regeneration started in 1981.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy PCTA89 - historic Shell Beckmeter petrol pump finished in vivid red and yellow, topped by an illuminated Shell globe and fronted by a mechanical register marked in gallons. The image shows a classic piece of mid twentieth century forecourt equipment, closely associated with the look and feel of British filling stations, roadside garages and service forecourts in the 1950s and 1960s. The Beckmeter name is prominently displayed on the cream panel, while the rounded cabinet, enamel-like colour treatment, glass window and analogue measuring dial give the photograph strong period character. This makes it highly suitable for themes including motoring heritage, petroliana, transport history, oil company branding, classic petrol pumps, vintage garage equipment, retro design, nostalgia, collectors' memorabilia and the visual culture of post-war road travel. Because the register is graduated in gallons rather than litres, the picture also works well as an illustration of how fuel retailing has changed over time, from attendant-operated pumps and mechanical metering to modern self-service dispensers with digital screens and litre pricing. The image can support editorial use in features on classic cars, historic filling stations, service station design, industrial design, advertising history, Shell branding and the evolution of the UK motor trade. Comparable Beckmeter pumps are commonly described by vintage petrol pump specialists and architectural historians as typical of the 1950s and 1960s, which aligns with the styling seen here. The warm colours, glowing globe and restored presentation give the subject real visual punch, making it suitable for magazines, books, museums, blogs, transport publications and heritage websites looking for a clean, recognisable symbol of twentieth century motoring life. The dark interior background helps the pump stand out, emphasising its sculptural form and nostalgic showroom appeal.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy ECW4EE - Photo shows A bar of CAMRA real ale,Craven Arms,Birmingham. The image is useful for illustrating British and Irish pub culture, real ale, traditional bars, hospitality, visitor economy stories and the continued importance of pubs as social places. Where a named pub, brewery, beer pump, pint glass or drinking street is visible, it can support articles on licensed premises, cask ale, CAMRA interest, tourism, nightlife, local character and changing high streets. The supplied location evidence places the subject at or near Birmingham, which adds value for buyers searching by town, city, region or postcode. Weather and season may be visible outside or through the setting
the subject has clear hospitality and leisure value. It should work for editorial buyers needing authentic, non-staged British or travel imagery for news, magazine, blog, local government, heritage, housing, transport, tourism, retail, public policy or social commentary use. The caption should be checked against the visible photograph before upload so that any readable signs, weather, time of day and people context are accurately reflected without overstating facts not shown in the image. The strongest sales value is the combination of named subject, real location and everyday documentary style, giving picture editors a flexible image that can sit alongside features, opinion pieces, explainers, historical retrospectives and local news. Search relevance is helped by including concise place names, visible brand or wording, functional subject terms, and wider editorial concepts such as public realm, consumer behaviour, heritage, travel, leisure and community life where they genuinely match the picture.
