The Companies acquired by Spice plc were established businesses with long standing and established relationships within the Social Housing Sector and included Apollo Heating, GMT, Gas Call, Pargas and Homerton Heating. Mono Services, an established Responsive and Voids Repairs Company were also acquired.
Spice amalgamated all the above named companies under one national brand name and in April 2009 the Liberty Group was formed.
In February 2010, Spice plc made the decision to concentrate on their core utilised base and as a consequence, the Liberty Group was sold in May 2010 to Booth Securities Limited. December 2012 saw a name change from Booth Securities Limited to Liberty Group Investments Limited.
The owners of Liberty Group Investments Limited have significant experience and knowledge of the Gas Repairs and Maintenance industry and working with Social Landlords, developed over a period of 40 years in the sector.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2PMT9E1 - The Lass 'O' Gowrie pub occupies a site on Charles Street beside the bridge that carries the street over the River Medlock and between the street and the railway viaduct. This area was once one of the poorest in the city which, based upon the origin of many of its residents, was known as Little Ireland. The pub website says of its history: Legend has it that the original landlord of the pub was not an Irishman, but a proud, homesick Scotsman who named the pub in honour of his favourite poem - 'the Lass O'Gowrie' written by the celebrated Scottish poet Lady Carolina Nairne.
The Slaters Directory of Manchester & Salford indicated that in 1895 the Lass 'O' Gowrie's landlord was Charles Nolan. By 1909 the directory indicated that James Wagstaffe was the landlord.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy DEJMPC - Barrington Court is a Tudor manor house begun around 1538 and completed in the late 1550s, with a vernacular 17th-century stable court (1675), situated in Barrington, near Ilminster, Somerset, England.
The house was owned by several families by 1745 after which it fell into disrepair and was used as a tenant farm. After repair by Alfred Hoare Powell, it was the first house acquired by the National Trust, in 1907, on the recommendation of the antiquarian Canon Hardwicke Rawnsley. In the 1920s the house was renovated, the stable block turned into a residence and several outbuildings, gardens and gateways constructed.
The house was originally surrounded by a medieval deer park and in the 17th century a formal garden was constructed. This had largely disappeared until a new garden was laid out by Gertrude Jekyll in an Arts and Crafts-style in the first half of the 20th century. It now contains walled kitchen gardens, fruit orchards and ornamental gardens.
