Taxonomy
Hyacinthoides non-scripta was first described by Carl Linnaeus in his seminal 1753 work Species Plantarum, as a species in the genus Hyacinthus. The specific epithet non-scriptus[Note 1] means unlettered or unmarked and was intended to distinguish this plant from the classical hyacinth of Greek mythology. This mythical flower, which was almost certainly not the modern hyacinth, sprang up from the blood of the dying prince Hyacinthus. His lover, the god Apollo, shed tears that marked the new flower's petals with the letters AIAI (alas) as a sign of his grief

The Gazelle was the first Singer to be produced following the take-over of the Singer company by the Rootes Group in 1956 and was a version of the mainstream Hillman Minx differing mainly in retaining the Singer overhead cam engine. Externally the only significant difference was a restyled nose based around a traditional Singer grille. The new car was announced in late September 1956.
The body style followed by the Gazelle between 1956 and 1967 came to be known as the Audax body, with significant input from the US based Loewy design organisation, highly regarded at the time partly on account of Loewy's input to several iconic Studebaker designs.
The Gazelle was initially offered in saloon and convertible body styles. The Gazelle Series II, offered from autumn 1957, was also available as an estate car, and had optional overdrive and larger fuel tank.
The suspension was independent at the front using coil springs while at the rear was a live axle and half elliptic leaf springs. The steering gear used a worm and nut system.
As standard, the car had a bench front seat but individual seats were available as an option. To allow for the bench seat, the handbrake lever was between the seat and the door.
The convertible version had a two position hood where it could be either completely lowered or rolled back to just behind the front seats described as the coupé de ville position. All side windows could be completely lowered. To compensate for the loss of body rigidity by the removal of the roof, extra cross bracing was fitted under the car.
A car with overdrive was tested by the British magazine The Motor in 1957. It had a top speed of 78.0 mph (125.5 km/h) and could accelerate from 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in 24.8 seconds. A fuel consumption of 33.5 miles per gallon.

It is a Grade II listed building. The Opera House is one of the main theatres in Manchester, England. The Opera House and its sister theatre the Palace Theatre, Manchester on Oxford Street are operated by the same parent company, Ambassador Theatre Group.
The theatre opened as the New Theatre in 1912, renamed the New Queen's Theatre in 1915 and as the Opera House in 1920 when it came under the wing of John Hart and his associates of United Theatres Ltd. In 1931 it was bought by, and prospered under, Howard & Wyndham Ltd which had been formed at the Theatre Royal, Glasgow in 1895 by Michael Simons. The group`s managing director A Stewart Cruikshank, headquartered at the group's headquarters in the King's Theatre, Edinburgh was joined on the board by Charles B Cochrane who now became a visiting producer at the Opera House, premiering numerous musicals and revues. The theatre staged the full range of plays, musicals, opera, and pantomime.
It closed in 1979 and for five years was a bingo hall. The Palace Trust acquired it in 1984 and returned it to a theatre. In 1990 it was acquired by Apollo Leisure and staged large-scale musicals.
The theatre has a rectangular plan and is built of stuccoed brick with a slate roof. Its symmetrical fifteen-bay facade is in the Classical style with a five-bay centre with fluted Ionic columns. Above the three central bays is a relief of a horse-drawn chariot within a semi-circular arch. The gable has a moulded cornice on brackets. The entrance canopy is a 20th-century addition.
The auditorium has two curved cantilevered balconies with large overhangs each holding 500 seats. Either side of the stage are stacked boxes between pairs of fluted Corinthian columns. The high proscenium arch is decorated with a circular medallion flanked by gryphons.

The Fall have been an unusually settled outfit in recent years, now on their fourth consecutive studio album with the same line-up.
For a band which has clocked up almost 70 members “ one of whom was reportedly fired by its iconic frontman and dictator-in-chief for ordering a salad “ it's been a period of relative calm which could have brought accusations of sterility.
The rousing opener ˜Your Future, Our Clutter' quickly dispels any fears of the serene venue taking away any of The Fall's traditional sting, if anything the acoustics of the cathedral add another layer to Smith's barking, hectoring vocals.
The follow-up number ˜I'm not from Bury' seems appropriate as the Prestwich rock deity holds his hometown crowd in the palm of his hand, especially the ones craning their necks around the cathedral's dramatic pillars as he prowls around the stage like an overlord searching for something that needs correcting.

I've seen Mark E Smith at a range of venues, from sweaty club gigs to confusing 100,000 Gorillaz fans at Glastonbury's main stage, but to see Manchester's most dissident music icon at the city's cathedral felt like it would be a surreal experience.
When the man himself strode past paying customers into the main nave of the grand old building, with the assurance of a man who very much owned the place, it was a double-take moment which seemed fitting of the whole event.
The Fall have been an unusually settled outfit in recent years, now on their fourth consecutive studio album with the same line-up.
For a band which has clocked up almost 70 members “ one of whom was reportedly fired by its iconic frontman and dictator-in-chief for ordering a salad “ it's been a period of relative calm which could have brought accusations of sterility.
The rousing opener ˜Your Future, Our Clutter' quickly dispels any fears of the serene venue taking away any of The Fall's traditional sting, if anything the acoustics of the cathedral add another layer to Smith's barking, hectoring vocals.
The follow-up number ˜I'm not from Bury' seems appropriate as the Prestwich rock deity holds his hometown crowd in the palm of his hand, especially the ones craning their necks around the cathedral's dramatic pillars as he prowls around the stage like an overlord searching for something that needs correcting.

It is sited at the Pier Head and along with the neighbouring Cunard Building and Port of Liverpool Building is one of Liverpool's Three Graces, which line the city's waterfront. It is also part of Liverpool's UNESCO designated World Heritage Maritime Mercantile City.
Opened in 1911, the building is the purpose-built home of the Royal Liver Assurance group, which had been set up in the city in 1850 to provide locals with assistance related to losing a wage-earning relative. One of the first buildings in the world to be built using reinforced concrete, the Royal Liver Building stands at 90 m (300 ft) tall.
It was the tallest storied building in Europe from completion until 1934 and the tallest in the United Kingdom until 1961. The Royal Liver Building is now however only the joint-fourth tallest structure in the City of Liverpool, having been overtaken in height by West Tower, Radio City Tower and Liverpool Cathedral.
Today the Royal Liver Building is one of the most recognisable landmarks in the city of Liverpool and is home to two fabled Liver Birds that watch over the city and the sea. Legend has it that were these two birds to fly away, then the city would cease to exist.

In this day and age in western countries we should be able to eat ourselves out of a trip to the dentist
Foods that help muscles and bones also help teeth and gums. Breads and cereals are rich in vitamin B while fruits (an apple a day... ) and vegetables contain vitamin C, both of which contribute to healthy gum tissue. Lean meat, fish, and poultry provide magnesium and zinc for teeth. Some people recommend that teeth be brushed after every meal and at bedtime, and flossed at least once per day, preferably at night before sleep. For some people, flossing might be recommended after every meal.
Some foods may protect against cavities. Fluoride is a primary protector against dental cavities. Fluoride makes the surface of teeth more resistant to acids during the process of remineralisation. Drinking fluoridated water is recommended by some dental professionals while others say that using toothpaste alone is enough.
Milk and cheese are also rich in calcium and phosphate, and may also encourage remineralisation. All foods increase saliva production, and since saliva contains buffer chemicals this helps to stabilize the pH to near 7 (neutral) in the mouth. Foods high in fiber may also help to increase the flow of saliva. Sugar-free chewing gum stimulates saliva production, and helps to clean the surface of the teeth.

Primal Scream are the definitive Scottish alternative rock group. They formed in 1982 in Glasgow by Bobby Gillespie (vocals) and Jim Beattie. The current lineup consists of Gillespie, Andrew Innes (guitar), Martin Duffy (keyboards), Gary 'Mani' Mounfield (bass), and Darrin Mooney (drums). Barrie Cadogan toured with the band in 2006 as a temporary replacement after the departure of guitarist Robert 'Throb' Young. Young's permanent replacement has not yet been announced.
The band performed throughout 1982-1984, but their career didn't especially take off until Gillespie left his position as drummer of The Jesus and Mary Chain. The band were a key part of the mid-1980s indie pop scene, but eventually moved away from their more jangly sound, taking on more psychedelic and then garage rock influences, before incorporating a dance music element to their sound. Their 1991 album Screamadelica broke the band into the mainstream.
On July 21, 2008, Primal Scream released a new album called Beautiful Future described by new producer Bjorn Yttling as sounding 'much more pop and Krautrock than before.
Critics suggested it sounds a bit like Alan Vega and Suicide. In July 2008, the first single from the album, entitled 'Can't Go Back', was released. The track was produced by Paul Epworth who also produced the album's title track. The tour followed and hence these shots.

Unfortunately the old 'Mr Smiths' has now seen better days. Closed now in its last incarnation as Halo, most people might remember it as the start point of the TV show 'Hitman and Her'.
It was a British television dance music show hosted by (record producer &
keen keen railway enthusiast) Pete Waterman and (Vegetarian Childrens TV star) Michaela Strachan. It ran almost continuously for over four years and three months September 1988 until December 1992.
Mr Smiths was quite a good club, visible from anyone crossing Bridge St into town. Tuesdays was usually a lively night. It was pound a pint in town and all Chinese takeaways were closed that night, hence in Mr Smiths it was often referred to as 'Triad Night', due to all young Chinese things partying.

The 1960s residential tower is enclosed in extensive scaffolding and protective mesh sheeting while contractor HMS carries out improvement works to the nine-storey block. Torus records that the redevelopment ultimately transformed the building into 53 social rent apartments, refurbishing 51 existing flats and creating two additional homes.
The wider scheme formed an investment in the long-term condition, safety and energy performance of the building. Works included new kitchens, bathrooms, windows, front doors, passenger lifts and balconies, together with improvements to communal areas, the entrance, waste management, parking and landscaping. The programme also incorporated asbestos removal, roof replacement and enhanced building-safety measures. Energy-efficiency measures included external wall insulation, non-combustible render, upgraded roof insulation and a communal air source heat pump, helping improve thermal comfort and reduce energy use and carbon emissions.
The project was supported by funding including Torus Group, the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund and Homes England, and formed part of wider regeneration ambitions for this area of Warrington. In this construction-stage view, scaffolding rises across the full elevation of Kingsway House, with blue safety fencing enclosing the site at street level. Torus and HMS branding is visible on the perimeter hoarding, while stacked building materials and temporary access equipment emphasise the scale of the active refurbishment programme. The photograph documents social housing asset management in practice, showing investment in an ageing post-war tower block through planned works, retrofit, modernisation and long-term improvements intended to extend the useful life and performance of existing affordable housing.

It was designed by William Henry Hunter and built by Sir William Arrol & Co. The bridge has a span of 200 ft (61 m), is 30 ft (9.1 m) wide, 76 ft (23 m) feet above high water level, with an overall length of 339 ft (103 m) feet and a total height of 89 ft (27 m)
It was constructed in 1915 and fell into disuse in approximately 1964. The bridge was constructed to connect the two parts of the large chemical and soap works of Joseph Crosfield and Sons. It was originally designed to carry rail vehicles up to 18 long tons (18 tonnes) in weight, and was converted for road vehicles in 1940. In 1953, it was further modified to carry loads of up to 30 long tons (30 tonnes)
It was the second of two transporter bridges across the Mersey at Warrington. The first was erected in 1905 slightly to the north of the existing bridge, and was described in The Engineer in 1908. A third transporter bridge over the Mersey was the Widnes-Runcorn Transporter Bridge, built in 1905 and dismantled in 1961

A local group called Friends of Warrington Transporter Bridge (FoWTB) was formed in Apr 2015 to act as the independent voice of the bridge. In 2016, the bridge was nominated for the Institution of Civil Engineers North West Heritage Award

At the International Exhibition held in London in 1862, Messrs. Cyrus Price and Co., first placed their safes in open competition with the world's leading makers, where the excellent qualities of their Holdfast and Fire-resisting safes and patent locks gained the prize medal awarded for new and special improvements. In 1869 this success was repeated at Wolverhampton, and was followed by an award of the only prize medal at Cardiff in 1888, and a gold medal for second order of merit at Melbourne, 1888-89.
Cyrus Price changed hands and names eventually being renamed Guardian Safe & Steel Furniture Company with a factory at Giggety Bridge, Wombourne before becoming Guardian Safes.
