King Amenhotep III commissioned numerous statues of himself, especially for his temples in Thebes, then Egypt's capital. His peaceful reign was a time of opulence and outstanding artistic refinement, often displayed on a grand and ambitious scale. The complete sculpture showed him striding. This and a slightly smaller colossus flanked a doorway in the temple of Mut in Karnak. The head of the second statue is also in the British Museum, but the bodies remain in Karnak. Victoria was built to serve both the Brighton and Chatham Main Lines, and has always had a split feel of being two separate stations. The Brighton station opened in 1860 with the Chatham station following two years later. It replaced a temporary terminus at Pimlico, and construction involved building the Grosvenor Bridge over the River Thames. It became immediately popular as a London terminus, causing delays and requiring upgrades and rebuilding. It was well known for luxury Pullman train services and continental boat-train trips, and became a focal point for soldiers during World War I.
Like other London termini, steam trains were phased out of Victoria by the 1960s, to be replaced by suburban electric and diesel multiple-unit services

Crowded places, events, public transport, and iconic locations throughout the country are some examples of locations that could be potential targets for terrorists.
You're familiar with your workplace and surrounding area, so you're ideally placed to spot when something is amiss. In this period of heightened alert, it is vital to remain vigilant, trust your instincts and report possible terrorist activity to the police.
Look for anything that seems out of the ordinary, such as:
people in stationary vehicles watching a building or structure
vehicles moving slowly near public buildings, structures or bridges, or parked in suspicious circumstances
people using recording equipment, including camera phones, or seen making notes or sketches of security details
someone suspicious paying close attention to specific entry and exit points, stairwells, hallways or fire escapes
people loitering at or near premises for long periods and watching staff, visitors and deliveries for no reason

Bold Street was originally laid out as a ropewalk
a long thin area of land used in the manufacture of rope (the area is now known as 'Rope Walks'). They used to measure the rope from the top of Bold Street to the bottom because it was the standard length needed for sailing ships. It was laid out for residences around 1780 and named after Jonas Bold, a noted sugar trader and banker. In 1802 Bold became Mayor of Liverpool.
Merchants that worked on the docks needed houses close by. Therefore, houses were constructed in Hanover Street first, followed by Duke Street and then Bold Street. The fields that were in the area earlier were also developed quickly into houses. Although there had been port-related industrial activity in the area, with roperies occupying the site of what is now Bold Street to supply the sailing ships, this intensified along with a demand for residential properties so that the merchants could be located close to their business interests.

The Old Wellington Inn is a half-timbered pub in Manchester city centre, England, United Kingdom. It is part of Shambles Square, which was created in 1999, and is near Manchester Cathedral. It is a Grade II listed building
The oldest building of its kind in Manchester, the Old Wellington Inn was built in 1552 next to the market square which led off what is now Market Street, in what was known as the Shambles. In 1554 part of it became a draper's shop, owned by the Byrom family, and the writer John Byrom was born there in 1692. The building had a third storey added to it in the 17th century. In 1830 the building became a licensed public house, known as the Vintners Arms, and later the Kenyon Vaults. By 1865, the ground floor of the building was known as the Wellington Inn, while the upper floors were used by makers of mathematical and optical instruments. Later, in 1897, the upper floors were used as a fishing tackle shop, known as Ye Olde Fyshing Tackle Shoppe.
In the 1970s the Old Shambles was underpinned with a concrete raft and raised by 1.4 metres (55 in) designed by draughtsman Fred Kennedy, to fit in with the development of 'The Market Place Centre.' This completely separate development was designed to provide a single level walk, from the Arndale Centre
[5] to which it was connected by a glass bridge over Corporation Street, and then on to Deansgate. The Inn was reopened in 1981. But what was not appreciated by most was the extent to which the building had been changed.

It is one of the three long distance stations in Munich, the others being M?¬nchen-Pasing and M?¬nchen Ost. M?¬nchen Hauptbahnhof sees about 450,000 passengers a day, which puts it on par with other large stations in Germany, such as Hamburg Hauptbahnhof and Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof.
It is one of 21 stations classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 1 station. The mainline station is a terminal station with 32 platforms. The subterranean S-Bahn with 2 platforms and U-Bahn stations with 6 platforms are through stations.
The first Munich station was built about 800 metres to the west in 1839. A station at the current site was opened in 1849 and it has been rebuilt numerous times, including to replace the main station building, which was badly damaged during World War II.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2AEDHTY - Metrolink (also known as Manchester Metrolink) is a tram/light rail system in Greater Manchester, England. The network has 93 stops along 62 miles (100 km) of standard-gauge track,[9] making it the most extensive light rail system in the United Kingdom. Metrolink is owned by Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) and operated and maintained under contract by a Keolis/Amey consortium. In 2018/19, 43.7 million passenger journeys were made on the system.
The network consists of seven lines which radiate from Manchester city centre to termini at Altrincham, Ashton-under-Lyne, Bury, East Didsbury, Eccles, Manchester Airport, MediaCityUK (Salford Quays) and Rochdale via Oldham - as well as to the Trafford Centre in the near future, as part of the Trafford Park Line set to be opened in 2020/21. With increased tram traffic brought about by the expansion of the Metrolink network, it became necessary to build a new route across Manchester City Centre to alleviate congestion and improve capacity.
Known as the Second City Crossing (or 2CC), the project involved laying 0.8 miles (1.3 km) of tram tracks from St Peter's Square tram stop via Princess Street, Albert Square, Cross Street and Corporation Street to rejoin the original Metrolink line just before Victoria station. One new tram stop was built at Exchange Square. The project also involved re-ordering St Peter's Square and re-siting the Cenotaph to accommodate an enlarged tram interchange and junction. Construction began in 2014, and the 2CC route opened fully in February 2017
