Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 3E42493 - The interior concourse of Warrington Bus Interchange is shown with the Travel Information Centre, red upper wall panels, passenger waiting areas, stand entrances and people moving through the transport hub. The image is a useful editorial view of everyday public transport in Warrington town centre, showing commuters, shoppers, school and college users, visitors and local passengers using a modern bus station linked to the Golden Square shopping centre and close to Warrington Central railway station. Warrington Borough Council says it owns and manages the Bus Interchange, which is near Warrington Central rail station, and AccessAble gives the interchange address as Winwick Street, Warrington, WA1 1XW. Warrington's Own Buses says its Travel Shop at Warrington Interchange provides ticket sales, general enquiries, timetables and route information. The photograph is commercially useful for stories about bus services, passenger footfall, local transport, public transport funding, town centre accessibility, route information, timetable advice, integrated transport, transport interchanges and the role of buses in reducing car dependency. It can also illustrate the challenges facing town centres, including commuter patterns, retail access, passenger safety, evening service levels, concessionary travel, fare policy and the practical dependence of many residents on reliable local bus networks. The visible concourse, information office, glass doors, red architectural detailing, stand signage and passengers give the scene strong documentary value for transport policy, municipal bus operation, urban regeneration and local authority infrastructure. As a stock image, it records the inside of a working bus interchange rather than a staged transport scene, making it useful for articles about local and regional mobility, waiting environments, accessibility, customer information, passenger flows and the everyday public spaces that keep a town connected.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 3CKYR4K - A rear view of a Police Liaison Officer wearing a high-visibility vest marked Police Liaison Officer while overseeing crowd movement during Notting Hill Carnival in West London. The image was taken in late summer, with strong daylight, blue sky and dry conditions typical of August weather in London.
In the background, large crowds of carnival-goers, event stewards and vehicles are visible, illustrating the scale and complexity of managing one of Europe's largest street festivals. Police liaison officers are deployed to act as a bridge between the police, event organisers and the public, focusing on communication, reassurance and de-escalation rather than enforcement.
Notting Hill Carnival is a major cultural event celebrating Caribbean heritage and London's diversity, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Images such as this are commonly used editorially to illustrate themes of public order, community policing, major event management, urban safety and multicultural life in the UK capital.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 3EENHYT - Spectators in a grandstand at Silverstone Circuit during Formula 1 British Grand Prix practice day, watching track action from blue seats beside the safety fencing, run-off area and open sky. The image shows the fan experience at one of the most famous motor racing venues in Britain, with spectators in casual clothing, people using phones, drinks in hand, marshals and trackside staff visible in the distance, and the wide Northamptonshire circuit landscape beyond the barrier. Silverstone is officially described as the home of the British Grand Prix and its grandstand ticketing promotes reserved seating across the Friday to Sunday race weekend, making this a useful photograph for editorial coverage of F1 spectators, practice sessions, motorsport tourism, race weekend build-up, grandstand views, sporting crowds and British summer events. The scene appears to be photographed in daylight under mixed cloud, with bright spells and a cool, changeable British weather feel typical of outdoor race meetings. The photograph works well for stories about Formula 1 fans, British Grand Prix attendance, Friday practice, motorsport culture, Silverstone facilities, circuit safety, spectator seating, high-speed sport, event management, travel to major venues and the economics of flagship UK sporting weekends. It also has value for travel, leisure and lifestyle uses showing a relaxed crowd waiting for or watching track activity before the higher-pressure qualifying and race sessions. The visible fencing, gravel run-off and trackside service area give strong context as a live racing circuit rather than a generic outdoor stadium. The composition captures the practical reality of a practice day, with fans spread through the stand, clouds gathering overhead and the atmosphere of anticipation before the main British Grand Prix race.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2T2843N - Holy Trinity Church lies on Boar Lane in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is a Grade I listed Church of England parish church in the Parish of Leeds St George in the Diocese of Leeds. It was built in 17227, though its steeple dates from 1839. Holy Trinity is in the evangelical church tradition of the Church of England.
History and architecture
A 1714 proposal that a new church should be erected in central Leeds foundered for lack of subscribers, but, in 1722, Lady Elizabeth Hastings of Ledston, backed by leading merchants, revived the project, and the foundation stone of Holy Trinity was laid on 27 August 1722.
The architect of the church was for some time believed to be William Halfpenny. However, it has subsequently been discovered that his designs for the church, for which he was paid £1 11s 6d on 8 May 1723, were never executed, and that the architect was William Etty of York. A letter from William Cookson to Ralph Thoresby dated 15 May 1723, enclosed a draught, the south front of our new church
it was drawn by Mr. Etty of York, who has also made us a wooden modell for our workmen to go by. Etty had been paid nineteen guineas in April of the same year for the model, which survived into the nineteenth century.
The west tower in Halfpenny's design was topped by a square, open colonnade with an obelisk-shaped spire. Etty did not envisage a spire, but a wooden one was later added by an unknown hand. Thomas Dunham Whitaker, Vicar of Whalley, Lancashire, in his Loidis and Elmete (1816), remarked of this spire: unquestionably one instance among many of private interference, by which the better judgment of real architects is often overruled, and for which they are unjustly considered as responsible. When the spire blew down in 1839, it was replaced by a taller stone steeple of three diminishing stages (architect: Robert Dennis Chantrell).
In 2020 a major refurbishment of the building was completed and will soon be home to a midweek ministry for city centre

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2RW3WYA - The Greek Revival façade facing Great Russell Street is a characteristic building of Sir Robert Smirke, with 44 columns in the Ionic order 45 ft (14 m) high, closely based on those of the temple of Athena Polias at Priene in Asia Minor. The pediment over the main entrance is decorated by sculptures by Sir Richard Westmacott depicting The Progress of Civilisation, consisting of fifteen allegorical figures, installed in 1852.
The construction commenced around the courtyard with the East Wing (The King's Library) in 18231828, followed by the North Wing in 18331838, which originally housed among other galleries a reading room, now the Wellcome Gallery. Work was also progressing on the northern half of the West Wing (The Egyptian Sculpture Gallery) 18261831, with Montagu House demolished in 1842 to make room for the final part of the West Wing, completed in 1846, and the South Wing with its great colonnade, initiated in 1843 and completed in 1847, when the Front Hall and Great Staircase were opened to the public. The museum is faced with Portland stone, but the perimeter walls and other parts of the building were built using Haytor granite from Dartmoor in South Devon, transported via the unique Haytor Granite Tramway.
In 1846 Robert Smirke was replaced as the museum's architect by his brother Sydney Smirke, whose major addition was the Round Reading Room 18541857
at 140 feet (43 m) in diameter it was then the second widest dome in the world, the Pantheon in Rome being slightly wider.
The next major addition was the White Wing 18821884 added behind the eastern end of the South Front, the architect being Sir John Taylor.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2T35BXM - Victoria station, also known as London Victoria, is a central London railway terminus and connected London Underground station in Victoria, in the City of Westminster, managed by Network Rail. Named after the nearby Victoria Street[4] (itself named after Queen Victoria), the main line station is a terminus of the Brighton Main Line to Gatwick Airport and Brighton and the Chatham Main Line to Ramsgate and Dover via Chatham. From the main lines, trains can connect to the Catford Loop Line, the Dartford Loop Line, and the Oxted line to East Grinstead and Uckfield. Southern operates most commuter and regional services to south London, Sussex and parts of east Surrey, while Southeastern operates trains to south-east London and Kent, alongside limited services operated by Thameslink. Gatwick Express trains run direct to Gatwick. The Underground station is on the Circle and District lines between Sloane Square and St James's Park, and the Victoria line between Pimlico and Green Park. The area around the station is an important interchange for other forms of transport: a local bus station is in the forecourt and Victoria Coach Station is nearby.
Victoria was built to serve both the Brighton and Chatham Main Lines, and has always had a split feel of being two separate stations. The Brighton station opened in 1860 with the Chatham station following two years later. It replaced a temporary terminus at Pimlico, and construction involved building the Grosvenor Bridge over the River Thames. It became immediately popular as a London terminus, causing delays and requiring upgrades and rebuilding. It was well known for luxury Pullman train services and continental boat-train trips, and became a focal point for soldiers during World War I.
Like other London termini, steam trains were phased out of Victoria by the 1960s, to be replaced by suburban electric and diesel multiple-unit services
all services from the station are currently operated using electric multiple units

Bettys Café Tea Rooms are traditional tea rooms serving traditional meals with influences from both Switzerland and Yorkshire. Taylors of Harrogate was a family tea and coffee merchant company, founded in 1886, which blended Yorkshire Tea and Taylors of Harrogate Coffee
the owners of Bettys acquired Taylors in 1962. The chairman of the company is Clare Morrow, a former journalist.
Yorkshire Tea was introduced by Charles Edward Taylor and his brother in 1883, when they created their company CE Taylor & Co., whose name was later shortened to Taylor's. The brothers later opened Tea Kiosks in the Yorkshire towns of Harrogate and Ilkley, and in 1962, local tea room competitor Betty's took over Taylor's, renamed it Taylors of Harrogate and formed Bettys and Taylors Group, which is still owned by the family of Fredrick Belmont, who founded Betty's Tea Rooms. Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2R3YB63 - Liverpool Street station, also known as London Liverpool Street, is a central London railway terminus and connected London Underground station in the north-eastern corner of the City of London, in the ward of Bishopsgate Without. It is the terminus of the West Anglia Main Line to Cambridge, the Great Eastern Main Line to Norwich, commuter trains serving east London and destinations in the East of England, and the Stansted Express service to Stansted Airport.
The station opened in 1874, as a replacement for Bishopsgate station as the Great Eastern Railway's main London terminus. By 1895, it had the most platforms of any London terminal station. During the First World War, an air raid on the station killed 16 on site, and 146 others in nearby areas. In the build-up to the Second World War, the station served as the entry point for thousands of child refugees arriving in London as part of the Kindertransport rescue mission. The station was damaged by the 1993 Bishopsgate bombing and, during the 7 July 2005 bombing, seven passengers were killed when a bomb exploded aboard an Underground train, just after it had departed from Liverpool Street. New platforms for the Elizabeth line opened in 2022 as part of the Crossrail project.
Liverpool Street was built as a dual-level station, with provision for the Underground. A tube station opened in 1875 for the Metropolitan Railway
the tube station is now served by the Central, Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines. It is in fare zone 1 and is managed directly by Network Rail.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2P4JWWP - Bold Street is a street in Liverpool, England. It is known for its cafés and for the Church of St Luke, which is situated at the top end. The bottom end leads into the area surrounding Clayton Square, which is part of the main retail district of central Liverpool. The bottom end contains more shops which are chain stores. Liverpool Central, a major hub of the Merseyrail rapid transit/commuter rail network, can also be accessed via an entrance on Bold Street next to The Lyceum, a post office which was Europe's first lending library. The middle area contains bars as it leads towards Concert Square, a square containing clubs and bars, and the top end contains more independent shops and cafes. For the most part, Bold Street is pedestrianised and cars do not have access.
History
Bold Street was originally laid out as a ropewalk
a long thin area of land used in the manufacture of rope (the area is now known as 'Rope Walks'). They used to measure the rope from the top of Bold Street to the bottom because it was the standard length needed for sailing ships. It was laid out for residences around 1780 and named after Jonas Bold, a noted sugar trader and banker. In 1802 Bold became Mayor of Liverpool.
Merchants that worked on the docks needed houses close by. Therefore, houses were constructed in Hanover Street first, followed by Duke Street and then Bold Street. The fields that were in the area earlier were also developed quickly into houses. Although there had been port-related industrial activity in the area, with roperies occupying the site of what is now Bold Street to supply the sailing ships, this intensified along with a demand for residential properties so that the merchants could be located close to their business interests.
Pavement Art from the Bold Street Festival

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2P4JX5N - Bold Street is a street in Liverpool, England.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2RD243N - This image shows a crowded late summer scene on Church Street in the historic old town of Whitby, North Yorkshire. The narrow pedestrian street is lined with traditional buildings and independent shops, many associated with Whitby Jet jewellery, local crafts, and tourism-related retail.
The photograph captures a busy period, likely during the tourist season, with visitors filling the street as they walk, browse shops, and explore the town centre. People of different ages are visible, dressed for cool but settled weather, suggesting a typical day for visitors to this popular seaside destination.
Church Street forms one of Whitby's main tourist routes, linking the harbour area with attractions such as the Museum of Whitby Jet and the climb toward Whitby Abbey. Overhead wires, hanging shop signs, and historic facades contribute to the strong sense of place and heritage.
The image documents the impact of tourism on a small historic town, illustrating both the economic importance of visitors and the pressures of crowding in narrow medieval streets during peak periods. It reflects Whitby's enduring appeal as a coastal heritage destination in northern England.

It is a prominent landmark in the city of Chester and the Eastgate clock on top of it is said to be the most photographed clock in England after Big Ben.
The original gate was guarded by a timber tower which was replaced by a stone tower in the 2nd century, and this in turn was replaced probably in the 14th century. The present gateway dates from 1768 and is a three-arched sandstone structure which carries the walkway forming part of Chester city walls. In 1899 a clock was added to the top of the gateway to celebrate the diamond jubilee of Queen Victoria two years earlier. It is carried on openwork iron pylons, has a clock face on all four sides, and a copper ogee cupola. The clock was designed by the Chester architect John Douglas. The whole structure, gateway and clock, was designated as a Grade I listed building on 28 July 1955

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2JJPKM1 - Carnaby Street is a pedestrianised shopping street in Soho in the City of Westminster, Central London. Close to Oxford Street and Regent Street, it is home to fashion and lifestyle retailers, including many independent fashion boutiques.
Streets crossing, or meeting with, Carnaby Street are, from south to north, Beak Street, Broadwick Street, Kingly Court, Ganton Street, Marlborough Court, Lowndes Court, Fouberts Place, Little Marlborough Street and Great Marlborough Street. The nearest London Underground station is Oxford Circus.
In 1934, Amy Ashwood Garvey and Sam Manning opened the Florence Mills Social Club at number 50, a jazz club that became a gathering place for supporters of Pan-Africanism.
Carnaby Street in the early 1950s was a shabby Soho backstreet consisting of rag trade sweat shops, locksmiths and tailors, and a Central Electricity Board depot practically took up one side of the street. The genesis of Carnaby Street as a global fashion destination began with Bill 'Vince' Green, a male physique photographer. In 1954 he opened opened a small clothing boutique 'Vince' in adjoining Newburgh Street, to capitalise on the homosexual body-building community that congregated around the Marshall Street baths. Those who modelled for the Vince catalogue and advertisements, and boosted its popularity, were the then barely-known Sean Connery and the hugely popular handsome boxer Billy Walker. To further attract custom, Green hired pretty young men as sales assistants, one of whom was the Glasgow-born John Stephen, later to be known as 'The King Of Carnaby Street'.
Stephen opened the boutique His Clothes, in 1957 after his shop in Beak Street burned down. As Mary Quant later stated of Stephen, He made Carnaby Street. He was Carnaby Street. He invented a look for young men which was wildly exuberant, dashing and fun. According to James Gardiner, who at one stage made ties for the Vince boutique, at this period Carnaby Street was essentially a gay thing...The

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2AE02N3 - Grappenhall is a semi-rural village in Cheshire, England, along the Bridgewater Canal in the Grappenhall and Thelwall civil parish, which had a population of 9,377 at the 2001 census. It has a cobbled square, St Wilfs at its centre and the Parr Arms Pub.
St Wilfrid's Church is in Church Lane, Grappenhall, a village in Warrington, Cheshire, England. It is designated by Historic England as a Grade I listed building. It is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Chester and the deanery of Great Budworth
The church is Norman in origin, built probably in the earlier part of the 12th century and completed about 1120. This was a small and simple church, consisting of a nave, chancel and, possibly, an apse. The foundations of this church were discovered during the 187374 restoration.
A chantry chapel was added by the Boydell family in 1334 in a position where the south aisle now stands. From 1529 the church was largely rebuilt in local sandstone. The old church was demolished and a new nave, chancel, north aisle and a west tower were built. In 1539 the south aisle was added, which incorporated the Boydell chapel. The south porch was added in 1641 and at this time the west wall was strengthened. In 1833 the roof of the nave was raised to form a clerestory and in the 1850s the south aisle was further extended, and a vestry was built. There was a more substantial restoration in 187374 by the Lancaster architects Paley and Austin, which included the provision of new floors and roofs, at a cost of about £4,000

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2AG9CM3 - Manchester City supporters wave blue flags inside Wembley Stadium before the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea on 24 February 2019, creating a strong fan's-eye view of a major English football occasion. The image shows the bright green Wembley pitch, red seating, floodlit stadium roof and the large pre-match cup final display, with City fans filling the foreground in pale blue. The final finished 0-0 after extra time before Manchester City beat Chelsea 4-3 on penalties to retain the League Cup, with Sky Sports recording an attendance of 81,775. This editorial sports photograph is useful for coverage of Manchester City Football Club, Chelsea FC, Wembley Stadium, English domestic cup finals, the EFL Cup, Carabao Cup sponsorship, penalty shoot-outs, football supporters, fan culture, cup final travel, football flags and the atmosphere of elite matchdays. The picture also connects with Manchester City's 2018-19 season, when Pep Guardiola's side won the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup, with the Community Shield also forming part of the club's Fourmidables branding. The foreground flags, packed stand, stadium bowl and ceremonial pitch graphics give the image strong search value for MCFC, Man City fans, Chelsea v Manchester City, Wembley cup final, football crowd, League Cup final 2019 and supporter experience. It can also illustrate articles about ticket demand, away days, London football events, crowd management, stadium design, football tourism, club identity, major sporting occasions and the commercial culture of modern English football. The image is clearly a public sporting event scene, with no close-up identifiable players, making it flexible for editorial use, match reports, sports history, supporter features and archive coverage of Manchester City's successful 2018-19 campaign.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2AG9CMC - A wide interior view of Wembley Stadium in London during the Carabao Cup final between Manchester City and Chelsea on 24 February 2019, photographed from among Manchester City supporters with blue flags visible in the foreground and red Wembley seating spelling out the stadium name across the opposite stand. The match finished 0-0 after extra time before Manchester City beat Chelsea 4-3 on penalties to retain the League Cup, in a final watched by an attendance of 81,775. This editorial football image is useful for coverage of Manchester City Football Club, Chelsea FC, Wembley Stadium, English domestic cup finals, the EFL Cup, Carabao Cup sponsorship, penalty shoot-outs, football supporters, fan culture, cup final travel, London sporting events and the 2018-19 English football season. The view captures the scale of the national stadium, the bright floodlights, the vivid green pitch, the red seating bowl, the roof structure and the atmosphere of a major evening football occasion. It also connects strongly with Manchester City's highly successful 2018-19 campaign, when the club went on to complete a domestic treble by winning the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup, alongside the Community Shield often referenced in club Fourmidables coverage. The image can illustrate sports journalism, match reports, club histories, Wembley features, football tourism, supporter experiences, ticketing, crowd management, cup final build-up and the economics of elite football. With the pitch, flags, crowd silhouettes and stadium branding all visible, it has strong search value for MCFC, Man City fans, Chelsea v Manchester City, Carabao Cup final 2019, Wembley night match, penalty drama and English football silverware. Editorial use should recognise visible club colours, competition branding and stadium setting as part of a public sporting event.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2RDAWB5 - Akt (stylised as akt and legally known as The Albert Kennedy Trust) is a voluntary organisation based in England, created in 1989 to serve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQ+) young people who are homeless or living in a hostile environment. It started in Greater Manchester in 1989 and opened in London in 1996, and expanded to Newcastle in 2013, Newcastle upon Tyne and Bristol.
History
The charity is named after Albert Kennedy (31 January 1973 30 April 1989), a 16-year-old Social Services care leaver from Manchester who was gay. Kennedy died after falling from the top of Chorlton Street multi-storey car park. Despite an inquest the circumstances of his death remain unclear. The official version is that he died from misadventure.
Kennedy had experienced a great deal of homophobia during his life. Manchester's gay community was moved into action by the Trust's founder patron Cath Hall. Cath Hall was a straight foster carer who saw the need for an organisation to be set up to support young lesbian, gay, bi and trans people who were facing homelessness because of rejection at home. She had observed that Kennedy's case was not isolated, and that many other LGBTQ+ young people in and out of the foster care system were struggling with the effects of homophobia. Hall described the founding of the trust as an emotional response, an angry response, to what was going on.
As a result, the Albert Kennedy Trust was formed, officially becoming a Trust in 1990.
In 2019 the Albert Kennedy Trust rebranded as akt.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2RDAWNP - The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (SPI), also called Order of Perpetual Indulgence (OPI), is a charitable, protest, and street performance movement that uses drag and religious imagery to satirize issues of sex, gender, and morality (particularly Christian perspectives on these topics) and fundraise for charity. In 1979, a small group of gay men in San Francisco began wearing the attire of Catholic nuns in visible situations using camp to promote various social and political causes in the Castro District.
From the original organization in San Francisco, the Sisters have grown throughout the U.S., Canada, Australia, Europe, and South America, and are now an international network of autonomous orders. These orders are mostly registered as non-profit charity organizations that raise money for AIDS, LGBT-related causes, and mainstream community service organizations, while promoting safer sex and educating others about the harmful effects of drug use and other high risk behaviors. They have also protested many Christian, and specifically Catholic, events perceived as anti-LGBT, including the visit of Pope John Paul II to the United States.
Throughout the movement's history there have been a number of conflicts with Christian communities. The group has been characterized by some Catholics (such as the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights) as anti-Catholic and a hate-group for impersonating and mocking Catholic practices and beliefs, including religious sisters

Events have included MCR Pride Live, the Superbia Weekend, the Gay Village Party, Manchester Pride Parade, Youth Pride MCR, Family Pride, The Human Rights Forum, and the Candlelit Vigil. The parade features various supporting organisations and charities and representative floats from the ten metropolitan boroughs of Greater Manchester.
Manchester Pride's headquarters are in Piccadilly, Manchester City Centre. Manchester Pride had a total income of £3,238,817 in the financial year ending 31 December 2021, had 10 employees, and used the services of 242 volunteers. Manchester Pride is regarded as one of the leading pride movement's worldwide, often trialling new innovative initiatives. Thus, it has sponsorships with some of the largest corporations worldwide, such as Virgin Atlantic, TikTok, Starbucks, Marc Jacobs and L'Oreal.
The organisation is managed by a Board of Trustees who are, in turn, Directors of the subsidiary companies Manchester Pride Limited and Manchester Pride Events Limited. The Board of Directors delegate operational functions to a paid Chief Executive Officer who is directly accountable to the board for corporate performance.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2PM6261 - St George's Market is the last surviving Victorian covered market in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It is located on May Street, close to the River Lagan and the Waterfront Hall. Belfast Corporation (now Belfast City Council) commissioned the building of St George's Market, which was built in three phases between 1890 and 1896. Before 1890 St George's Market was an open market and most likely contained a slaughterhouse and a meat market. Today it is a thriving market with 300 traders, crafters, musicians, and food vendors.
By the 1980s, St George's Market had developed into a general market and it became the last of Belfast's thriving Victorian markets. The market was pressured with increased maintenance costs and changes to hygiene regulations, among other issues, and Belfast City Council decided to source other uses for the listed building. A campaign backed by the city council, traders and the general public resulted in a Heritage Lottery Fund-backed £3.5 million refurbishment programme assisted by the Environment and Heritage Agency. Brick and stonework that had badly deteriorated was returned to good condition, and special bricks were produced in England to match the original unusually sized bricks. The fully renovated St George's Market reopened its doors on 14 May 1999.
St George's Market is primarily used as a market, however a number of other events are held at the site. These range from food festivals, art initiatives, exhibitions, charity launches, fashion shoots and live music events. Local software company Northbrook Technology hold their annual Staff Christmas Party at the venue.
The market has won a number of recent awards, including being voted Best Large Indoor Market 2014 and as one of the UK's top five markets by the National Association of British Market Authorities in 2006, and winning third place in the best markets category of the Observer Food Monthly/Waitrose Awards in 2004

Johnny Marr (born John Martin Maher, 31 October 1963) is an English musician, songwriter and singer. He first achieved fame as the guitarist and co-songwriter of the Smiths, who were active from 1982 to 1987. He has since performed with numerous other bands and embarked on a solo career.
Born in Manchester, to Irish parents, Marr formed his first band at the age of 13. He was part of several bands with Andy Rourke before forming the Smiths with Morrissey in 1982. The Smiths attained commercial success and were critically acclaimed, with Marr's jangle pop guitar style becoming a distinctive part of the band's sound, but separated in 1987 due to personal differences between Marr and Morrissey. Since then, Marr has been a member of the Pretenders, The The, Electronic, Modest Mouse, and the Cribs, and he has become a prolific session musician, working with names such as Pet Shop Boys, Talking Heads, Bryan Ferry and Hans Zimmer.
Having released an album titled Boomslang in 2003 under the name Johnny Marr and the Healers, Marr released his first solo album, The Messenger, in 2013. His second solo album, Playland, was released in 2014, followed by a third, Call the Comet, in 2018. Marr's autobiography, Set the Boy Free, was published in 2016

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy D8HTNE - Olympic Torch arrives in Warrington.
The Flame arrived in Warrington from Halton via Liverpool Road at around 12.30pm. It will travel the length of Sankey Street, past the Golden Gates and Bank Park, where 300 primary school children took part in a mini-Olympics.
It was then carried to Market Gate where the 70-strong Warrington Male Voice Choir performed, and then turn down Buttermarket Street and on to Winwick Street. The Torch then called into Tesco for a 15-minute stop.
The route was announced by Warrington Borough Council and the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (LOCOG).
Members of the public are invited to line the streets throughout the town centre or to visit Orford Park to celebrate the achievements of the eight inspirational Torchbearers who will be carrying the Flame in Warrington.
Torchbearers included Great Sankey resident Stephen Deakin MBE. He is the manager of the Royal Liverpool Hospital transplant sports team and an enthusiastic campaigner for organ donation.
Stephen aged 50, said: When I first heard I had been nominated I was absolutely made up but to be chosen to carry the torch. I am really honoured and humbled.
Other torch bearers from Warrington include Emily Woodward age 12, Helen Lea, age 42, Ian Livingston and Jason El-kaleh age 17.
Cllr Terry O'Neill, leader of the council, said: I would encourage everyone to come out and see the Flame as it comes through the town, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity and a chance to get the countdown to London 2012 officially started in Warrington.
Sebastian Coe, chair of LOCOG said: Today we bring the Olymp

Description: Tony Smith image Flickr 6357454651 - 'A cold evening in Oldham, with the town centre being dug up, a classic back catalog from the early JD &
Warsaw days. What more could you ask for? A special warm up for a unique tour.
Well I saw Joy Division a couple of times, the same number of times I have been to see the memoral to Ian Curtis in Macclesfield. You can be forgiven for expecting a lot.
I have got to say, Hooky and The Light made a good job of it. The Castle reminded me of the Russell Club in Hulme, it just needed lower ceilings. Down to about 7'.
Rowetta was here too. The EP containing unreleased Joy Division track ‘Pictures In My Mind’, ‘Atmosphere’ plus Rowetta’s versions of ‘New Dawn Fades’ and ‘Insight’ are worth a download, see www.fac51thehacienda.com/node/2088
Everything sounded raw, stripped down. Particularly the Closer album tracks, the young folks will only know them with the Hannett gloss of polished production.
Hooky's voice is slightly rough and Mancunian too. He needed some pages of his lyric book. Theres no robotic dancing either, and not so much bass playing. He leaves much to Jack, although rips into it as an axe-man when he gets in the mood. Breaks a string too on the Eccleshall Viking 1 (in Red with Cream Binding), so then it becomes more of a prop.
Rowetta's 'Atmosphere' was a highlight for me. Maybe all along that track needed female vocals.
Overall Hooky did good. He wrote this stuff, its in his soul. Thats why he wants to tour and share it, he is certainly not doing for the cash!

Skin has done some solo stuff but not really hit the peaks of Stoosh and Paranoid and Sunburnt.
SA were on top form tonight at the Wolverhampton Civic. Coincidentally the city xmas lights were switched on this night too, with fireworks.
However the best show was in the Civic with Skin body surfing down to the bottom of the hall &
back, then doing a lap of the circle. A brilliant performance and two new tracks chucked in to boot!
