Beyond the classroom, she played an influential role in local and national initiatives, contributing to the development of Black History Month in Wales and advising on equality and community cohesion. Her work helped challenge institutional racism within education and broadened understanding of Welsh identity as diverse and multi-ethnic.

From 2002 to 2011, Jobcentre Plus was an executive agency which reported directly to the Minister of State for Employment. It was formed by the amalgamation of two agencies, the Employment Service, which operated Jobcentres, and the Benefits Agency, which ran social security offices.
Role of Jobcentre Plus
Jobcentre Plus was an executive agency of the Department for Work and Pensions of the government of the United Kingdom between 2002 and 2011. The functions of Jobcentre Plus were subsequently provided directly through the Department for Work and Pensions. The agency provided services primarily to those attempting to find employment and to those requiring the issuing of a financial provision due to, in the first case, lack of employment, of an allowance to assist with the living costs and expenditure intrinsic to the effort to achieve employment, or in all other cases the provision of social-security benefit as the result of a person without an income from employment due to illness-incapacity including drug addiction. The organisation acted from within the government's agenda for community and social welfare. Services were provided in the first instance via in-house job-advisors and advisors contacted via telephony. An information technology system known as the Labour Market System (LMS) contained the personal details of job seekers and advertised job vacancies for employers within each of the public offices.
Between 2012 and 2018 a government website named Universal Jobmatch was used whereby jobseekers could search for employment and employers could upload and manage their own vacancies whilst searching for prospective employees.

PCN are used to streamline the process of penalising minor offenders, without the expense and complication of legal proceedings.
Any offence that has a standard penalty charge, is not an offence that you can be prosecuted for. A penalty charge is not the same thing as an enforceable fine. That being said, you can't just ignore a PCN. You will need to either appeal against it or pay it.
Cardiff council issues Penalty Charge Notices (PCN) for a number of reasons. However, the most common reasons why you might either find one attached to your vehicle or be sent one by post, are for minor traffic rule infractions and parking offences.
If you are issued with a PCN, what do you need to do with it? Can you ignore it, or do you have to pay it? Or is there some way to make an appeal against the PCN?
You can't pay a penalty charge notice in instalments. There are three ways to pay a Cardiff council penalty charge notice. You can pay online, as long as you know the PCN number and have a credit or debit card. There is also a payment hotline that is open 7 days a week, around the clock. You can call 029 2044 5900 and give the PCN number, and then pay using a payment card. Lastly, you can make out a cheque or postal order to Cardiff Council, write the PCN number on the back, and then post it to the following address:

Aneurin Nye Bevan PC (15 November 1897 ? 6 July 1960) was a Welsh Labour Party politician, noted for tenure as Minister of Health in Clement Attlee's government in which he spearheaded the creation of the British National Health Service. He is also known for his wider contribution to the founding of the British welfare state.
Bevan is widely regarded as one of the most influential left-wing politicians in British history.
The statue was erected in 1987, designed by Robert Thomas.
Bevan became Labour MP for Ebbw Vale in 1929, subsequently an effective public speaker known for his left wing views and being temporarily expelled from the party on two occasions (one of them for his opposition to nuclear weapons). He was elected to the Labour's National Executive and became Minister for Health in the post-war Labour government, where he was behind the nationalisation of healthcare and founding of the NHS. As Minister for Housing he took steps to solve the post-war housing shortage. Bevan remained MP for Tredegar until his death in 1960.
The statue was commissioned by South Glamorgan County Council and designed by Welsh sculptor, Robert Thomas, who also created a number of other sculptures in Cardiff city centre. The statue was erected in 1987 at the far end of Queen Street. It is the only statue of Bevan (as of 2021) in the United Kingdom.
The figure of Bevan, wearing a suit and leaning forward in a typical pose, is cast in bronze and stands on top of a polished granite pedestal. The statue is 1.83 metres (6.0 ft) in height, while the pedestal is 2.14 metres (7.0 ft) high. In gold on the front of the pedestal are the words Founder of the National Health Service.

Originally the site of Cardiff gaol, the gallows were located on the site of the current St. Mary Street entrance, where Dic Penderyn was hanged on 13 August 1831.
The market was designed by the Borough Surveyor, William Harpur, and opened in May 1891. A farmers' market is known to have existed at the site since the 18th century.
The market consists of two shopping levels, a ground floor and a balcony level which wraps around the market exterior walls on the interior. Entrances to the market are located at St. Mary Street, Trinity Street and from an alleyway off Church Street.
A large H. Samuel clock has hung above the High Street entrance since 1910. The current clock dates from 1963 (by Smith of Derby) and was restored at a cost of ?25,000 in 2011
Since 1975 the building has been listed and is currently Grade II

Ashton's
Traders in the market offer a variety of fresh produce, cooked food, various delicacies and more durable goods.
A trader of note is Ashton's the fishmongers, who claim to have traded in the market since 1866 at the Trinity Street entrance selling a wide range of fresh seafood. In 2012 they hit the headlines when they sold meat from a 20 foot long 550 lb thresher shark.
Another longstanding trader is The Market Deli, a small, family-run business trading for over 100 years, located at the same stall since 1928

The Pierhead Building is part of the estate of the Senedd (Welsh Parliament
Welsh: Senedd Cymru), which also includes the Senedd building and T Hywel. The clock on the building is unofficially known as the Baby Big Ben or the Big Ben of Wales.
The building was built in 1897 and designed by the English architect William Frame. It was a replacement for the headquarters of the Bute Dock Company which burnt down in 1892. Frame's mentor was William Burges, with whom he worked on the rebuilding of Cardiff Castle and Castell Coch until Burges's death in 1881.
The Bute Dock Company was renamed the Cardiff Railway Company in 1897. A coat of arms on the building's fa??ade bears the company's motto Wrth ddr a th?n (by water and fire), encapsulating the elements creating the steam power which transformed Wales.
The building became the administrative office for the Port of Cardiff in 1947.
The 1897 clock mechanism, by William Potts & Sons of Leeds, was removed and replaced with an electronic motor, and auctioned off by British Rail and sold to an American collector in 1973. It was returned to Cardiff in 2005 and in 2011 was restored by Smith of Derby Group and installed as a piece of contemporary art created by the artist Marianne Forrest in Cardiff city centre.
Architecture
Incorporating a French-Gothic Renaissance theme, the Pierhead boasts details such as hexagonal chimneys, carved friezes, gargoyles, and a highly ornamental and distinctive clock tower. Its exterior is finished in glazed terracotta blocks supplied at the end of the 19th century by J. C. Edwards & Co. of Acrefair, near Ruabon in Wrexham County Borough
they were once described as one of the most successful producers of terracotta in the world.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2MKF8CY - William John Boston, MBE (born 6 August 1934) is a Welsh former professional rugby league footballer who played as a wing or centre. Born in Cardiff, Wales, Boston started his career as a rugby union player before joining Wigan in 1953. He spent the next 15 years at Wigan, where he scored a club-record 478 tries in his 488 appearances for the club. He finished his career at Blackpool Borough before retiring in 1970. He also represented Great Britain in 31 Test matches, and was part of the team that won the 1960 Rugby League World Cup.
Regarded as one of the sport's greatest ever players, Boston scored a total of 571 tries in his career, making him the second-highest try scorer in rugby league history. He is an original inductee of the British Rugby League Hall of Fame, Welsh Sports Hall of Fame and Wigan Warriors Hall of Fame, and was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 1996 Birthday Honours for services to the community in Wigan, Greater Manchester.
Early life
Born on 6 August 1934 at Angelina Street, Butetown, Cardiff, Boston was the sixth of eleven children born to John Boston (a merchant seaman from Sierra Leone) and Nellie who came from Cardiff's Irish community
On 13 March 1953 Wigan chairman Joe Taylor and vice-chairman Billy Gore travelled to Boston's home in Cardiff and offered him ?1,000 to sign for them. Although that was very large offer, Boston's mother rejected it on his behalf. A second offer of ?1,500 was made in cash, and the money was spread out on the table in five pound notes to show the family how much money it was.
Boston stated that he still did not want to sign, but his mother had given their word, and Boston signed the contract.
Boston made his 'A' team d??but a crowd of 8,000 assembled inside Central Park, Wigan. He made his first team d??but against Barrow in November 1953 scoring a try.
Billy Boston played stand-off in Wigan's 8?13 defeat by Oldham in the 1957?58 Lancashire Cup Final

It was founded in 1882 by Samuel Arthur Brain.[1] At its peak, the company controlled more than 250 pubs in South Wales (particularly in Cardiff), Mid Wales and the West Country but the brewer sold most of its pub estate in 2022.[2] The company took over Crown Buckley Brewery in Llanelli in 1997 and Hancock's Brewery in 1999. In 2000, Brains moved to the former Hancock's Brewery just south of Cardiff Central railway station. The Millennium Stadium is owned by Millennium Stadium plc which is a subsidiary company of the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU). The stadium was designed by a team led by architects Bligh Lobb Sports Architecture, who merged to become HOK Sport Venue Event, which would be renamed Populous in early 2009. WS Atkins were the structural engineers, and the building contractor was Laing. The total construction cost of the stadium was ?121 million, of which the Millennium Commission funded ?46 million.
The stadium opened in June 1999, and the first major event to be held was an international rugby union match on 26 June 1999, when Wales beat South Africa in a friendly by 29?19, before a test crowd of 29,000. With total seating capacity of 74,500, it is the third largest stadium in the Six Nations Championship behind the Stade de France and Twickenham, which is the largest. PCN are used to streamline the process of penalising minor offenders, without the expense and complication of legal proceedings.
Any offence that has a standard penalty charge, is not an offence that you can be prosecuted for. A penalty charge is not the same thing as an enforceable fine. That being said, you can't just ignore a PCN. You will need to either appeal against it or pay it.

You can't pay a penalty charge notice in instalments. There are three ways to pay a Cardiff council penalty charge notice. You can pay online, as long as you know the PCN number and have a credit or debit card. There is also a payment hotline that is open 7 days a week, around the clock. You can call 029 2044 5900 and give the PCN number, and then pay using a payment card. Lastly, you can make out a cheque or postal order to Cardiff Council, write the PCN number on the back, and then post it to the following address:
