Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 3DCX6C2 - A novelty barbecue apron printed with the slogan Prick With A Fork, photographed on display at a stall in Bury Market, Bury BL9 0SW, Greater Manchester. The apron is shown on a mannequin within a temporary market setup, surrounded by wire racks and retail goods typical of open-air market trading.
Bury Market is one of the best-known traditional markets in the UK, with a long history of independent traders selling food, household goods, clothing and novelty items. Humorous aprons and slogan merchandise form part of the market's informal retail culture, appealing to customers looking for playful gifts, barbecue accessories or light-hearted kitchen humour.
The slogan reflects a distinctly British style of cheeky wordplay, balancing innuendo with everyday domestic imagery. Items like this are often purchased for birthdays, Father's Day, Christmas or as jokey gifts linked to outdoor cooking, barbecues and casual entertaining.
The image captures the character of market retail, where humour, personality and impulse buying play an important role alongside price and practicality. Photographed in daylight under a market canopy, the scene documents a small but familiar aspect of British consumer culture and independent trading.
The photograph offers strong editorial value for themes including British humour, novelty gifts, market culture, independent retail and everyday food-related lifestyle, making it suitable for use in lifestyle features, retail commentary, cultural journalism and social observation pieces.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2PY19AG - Jet2 plc (formerly Dart Group plc) is a British multinational airline company based in Leeds, England.
Its head office is located in the Low Fare Finder House on the grounds of Leeds Bradford Airport, England. Subsidiary Jet2.com has its head office in the same building.
The company's name for most of its existence was derived from the type of aircraft that it first flew, the Handley Page Dart Herald. After selling off other units, the company rebranded as Jet2 in 2020. The stock ticker symbol also changed to Jet2 to reflect the name change
In 2002, four Boeing 737 aircraft were purchased with two becoming 737 QC (Quick change) aircraft and two as passenger aircraft. From February 2003, the Jet2 low-cost airline began flying from Leeds Bradford Airport to mainland Europe destinations. Fowler-Welch and Coolchain merged to become Fowler-Welch Coolchain Ltd in 2003. Eight Boeing 737-300 aircraft (of which five were passenger aircraft) were purchased in 2003 to bring the total to 12. In 2004, six more Boeing 737-300 passenger aircraft were purchased, and routes from Belfast International Airport started in April and from Manchester Airport in December. In 2005, routes began from Newcastle Airport in October and two Boeing 757-200 aircraft were purchased. In 2006, six more Boeing 757-200 passenger aircraft were bought and the Channel Express Portsmouth distribution base was sold to Ferryspeed C.I. Ltd in June. A package holiday company, Jet2holidays, was formed in January 2007.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2NW51H9 - Qatar Airways Company Q.C.S.C. operating as Qatar Airways, is the state-owned flag carrier airline of Qatar. Headquartered in the Qatar Airways Tower in Doha, the airline operates a hub-and-spoke network, using a fleet of more than 200 aircraft. Qatar Airways Group employs more than 43,000 people. The carrier has been a member of the Oneworld alliance since October 2013, the first Persian Gulf carrier to sign with one of the three major airline alliances.
The State of Qatar was a joint-owner member of Gulf Air along with Oman, The UAE (only the Emirate of Abu Dhabi), and Kingdom of Bahrain, until May 2002, following its withdrawal. It became the first country among the three to withdraw from the Airline to solely focus on its own airline Qatar Airways, although it remained a member of the airline for six months after the government announced its complete withdrawal.
Foundation
Qatar Airways was established by the government of Qatar on November 22, 1993
operations started on January 20, 1994
The Qatar Airways Group ?which included Qatar Airways, Doha International Airport and corporate business air services, ground handling and in-flight catering companies? reported its first profit ever for the fiscal year (FY) that ended on March 2004
In 2013, The Economist claimed that a perusal of online forums used by cabin crew suggests that Qatar has a reputation for severity among industry professionals, including allegations of harsh treatment and overbearing scrutiny are commonplace, and that the conditions laid down by Qatar Airways go beyond more familiar rules ... the employee can be fired if she becomes pregnant (which she is contractually obliged to disclose 'from the date of her knowledge of its occurrence'). The airways' CEO Akbar Al Baker has previously stated, We are not running an intelligence agency, we are an airline company. The reason why I know everything happening in the company is ... I'm simply everywhere, talking to everyone, listening to them

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy 2A0TWPF - Virgin Atlantic, a trading name of Virgin Atlantic Airways Limited and Virgin Atlantic International Limited, is a British airline with its head office in Crawley, United Kingdom. The airline was established in 1984 as British Atlantic Airways, and was originally planned by its co-founders Randolph Fields and Alan Hellary to fly between London and the Falkland Islands. The maiden flight from Gatwick Airport to Newark Liberty International Airport took place on 22 June 1984.
The airline along with Virgin Holidays is controlled by a holding company, Virgin Atlantic Limited, which is 51% owned by the Virgin Group and 49% by Delta Air Lines. It is administratively separate from other Virgin-branded airlines. Virgin Atlantic uses a mixed fleet of Airbus and Boeing wide-body aircraft and operates to destinations in North America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East and Asia from its main bases in London (Heathrow and Gatwick), and its secondary base at Manchester. The airline also operates seasonal flights from Glasgow and Belfast. Virgin Atlantic aircraft consist of three cabins: Economy, Premium (formerly Premium economy) and Upper Class (business).
In 2012, Virgin Atlantic carried 5.4 million passengers, making it the seventh-largest UK airline in terms of passenger volume. On 31 December 2013, it reported a ?51 million group pre-tax loss (approximately US$87 million)
however, in the year to 31 December 2014 the airline reported a return to pre-tax profit of ?14.4m

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy HEW1T9 - Manchester Airport (IATA: MAN, ICAO: EGCC) is an international airport in Ringway, Manchester, England, 7.5 nautical miles (13.9 km
8.6 mi) south west of Manchester city centre. In 2015, it was the third busiest airport in the United Kingdom in terms of passenger numbers. The airport comprises three terminals, a goods terminal and is the only British airport other than London's Heathrow Airport to operate two runways over 3,280 yd (2,999 m) in length. Manchester Airport has flights to around 225 destinations, and the airport covers an area of 560 hectares (1,400 acres).
Officially opened on 25 June 1938, it was initially known as Ringway Airport. In the Second World War, as RAF Ringway, it was a base for the Royal Air Force. The airport is owned and managed by the Manchester Airports Group (MAG), a holding company owned by the Australian finance house IFM Investors and the ten metropolitan borough councils of Greater Manchester, with Manchester City Council owning the largest stake.
Ringway, after which the airport was named, is a village with a few buildings and church at the southern edge of the airport. The airport handled 23.1 million passengers in 2015, a record high and has capacity for up to 50 million passengers annually. This potential figure is limited by the airport's restriction to 61 aircraft movements per hour.[9] Future developments include the ?800 million Manchester Airport City logistics, manufacturing, office and hotel space next to the airport and transport improvements such as the SEMMMS relief road and a High Speed 2 station.

Description: Tony Smith image Alamy HEW1HN - Flybe is the largest independent regional airline in Europe, based in Exeter, operating more UK domestic flights than any other airline. It flies 7 million passengers a year on 149 routes, from 62 destinations in 9 countries, connecting to long-haul hubs in Manchester, Birmingham, Paris, Dublin and Amsterdam. It is a member of the European Regions Airline Association. Flybe's parent company Flybe Group PLC (formerly known as Walker Aviation Limited) is listed on the London Stock Exchange.
The airline launched in 1979 as Jersey European Airways following the merger of Intra Airways and Express Air Services. In 1983 the airline was sold to Walker Steel Group, which also owned Spacegrand Aviation, and the two airlines were merged under the Jersey European name in 1985. Jersey European was renamed British European in 2000 (shortened to BE), and received its current name in 2002.
